Base Class: Sorcerer
You are a fiend that likes to control monsters and hide in objects. Behaving similar to a ghost.
This was inspired by the same named class from the 3rd edition prestige class found in Fiend Folio.
Ethereal Form
You can cast Etherealness at will
Level 3: Possess Object
After you've cast etherealness you may choose to possess an object. If the object is unattended it's an automatic success. If the object is within someone's possession you have to do a successful stealth check to slip inside. The object you can possess can be no heavier than 5 pounds per (sorcererlevel). While possessing an object the duration of your etherealness is paused until you take an action to leave the object. While within the object you may cast spells like normal. You may also choose one of your spells to be charged into the object while you possess it. This effectively allows another creature to deliver the spell for you. If it's a cantrip you may allow this effect to be permanent until you leave the object. If the object you are in is damaged you take 1 damage. If the object you are within is destroyed you take a d6 of damage.
At level 10, If you are in contact with another creature, you may curse them. The other creature is able to make a constitution saving throw to avoid being cursed. You may only curse a single target once per day regardless of if it succeeds or not. It is also entirely up to your DM about what curse is put onto the victim. Although if the curse succeeds the target isn't aware of being cursed right away nor do they know where they got cursed from.
At level 12, If you are ethereal you may possess more than one object at a time as long as it doesn't go over your weight limit. A good example of this would be a pile of sand or a pond of water.
Level 6: Possess Creature
While you are ethereal or possessing an object, you may choose to possess an adjacent creature. The creature is allowed a wisdom save to resist the possession. The save DC for the possession is equal to 10 + your cha modifier. In addition you may roll a stealth check if you succeed you go unnoticed regardless if you made the check or not. You gain the same pros and cons as if you were possessing an object. Although in addition you may choose to give your host advantage or disadvantage on one roll per round.
At level 18, you may control a creature you have successfully possessed. The creature is entitled to another wisdom save to prevent being controlled. If the check fails you are unable to control the subject until the next day.
Animate Object
You control the object your possessing. You alter the objects shape in minor fashion to enable to to move like a creature. It doesn't grow in size but it's material is rearranged to your desire. A couple of example would be to make your object into a doll or simply create a mouth on the surface of the object to yell at the barkeep. The DM may ask for an appropriate knowledge check to see if your character can shape yourself appropriately into the desired shape. If the subject fails then it results in a half formed creation. You wouldn't want a doll without legs, right?
Level 18: Expert Possessor
At level 18, you no longer get harmed from an object or creature, that you are possessing, taking damage. You also no longer take damage on either of these being destroyed.
