Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

For some barbarians, rage is not just a state of mind it is a combustion of soul and spirit, a volatile furnace burning from within. Those who walk the Path of Destruction do not merely surrender to fury; they stoke it, amplify it, and weaponize the raw heat of their own being. Their power is born from an inner rupture, a crack in the soul through which unrelenting energy pours.

As these warriors rage, they build up unbearable heat not just metaphorically, but in truth. Their bodies seethe with destructive potential, their essence igniting in bursts of fire and force. This path is not for the weak-willed or faint-hearted, as the very act of wielding such power comes with great risk. The soul under pressure can shatter, and a Destruction Barbarian dances constantly on the edge of that annihilating threshold.

These barbarians burn brighter the closer they come to breaking, often erupting in devastating explosions when pushed to their limit. They channel the feedback of pain into power, turning every blow received or dealt into ammunition for their explosive vengeance. To face a Destruction Barbarian in combat is to confront a living inferno unpredictable, unrelenting, and always one step from detonation.

Raging Heat

Starting on 3rd level, When entering your Rage, you will start channeling your Inner Heat causing your Soul to Rupture. You can have a maximum amount of Heat Stacks equal to your Barbarian Level and you will start with 0 hit at the start of your Rage. You can gain Heat with the following Methods;

  • Once per Turn, you will generate 1 Heat on a successful Attack and you will generate an additional point of Heat for each 15 points of damage you have dealt
  • Once per Turn, when taking damage you will generate 1 Heat and an additional point of Heat for each 15 points of damage you take. After Generating Heat through this way, you can use your Reaction to activate this Method again

Your Heat will have a Damage Dice to it, expending it will then deal a number of Heat Dices determined by the ability as Fire damage, Upon Reaching 10th level, you will gain the option to instead deal Force damage with heat dices. A Heat Dice is equal to a d4, increasing to a d6 on 9th level, a d8 on 11th level and a d10 on 17th level. You can then expend Heat in Multiple ways;

  • On a successful Attack, you can expend 1 Heat to make your attack Explosive, the attack will explode within a 5-feet Radius (can include yourself), you will then Roll a Heat Die, all Creatures within the Radius will then take the Rolled number as damage. Upon Reaching 10th level, You can expend an additional point of Heat to deal an additional Heat Dice as damage.
  • If you take damage, you can take your Reaction to expend one Heat point to explode yourself within a 5-feet Radius, you will then roll one Heat Die, all Creatures within the Readius will then take the rolled number as damage. Upon Reaching 10th Level, You can expend up to two additional Heat Points to Increase the damage by an additional Heat Dice per Heat Stack used.

If you expend Heat stacks, your Body Temperature increases granting you the following Benefits. Every three Heat Stacks you expend will either grant you a +1 to Damage Rolls or will grant you +1 Reduced incoming damage (your choice) but every 6 Heat Stacks you expend will reduce your armor class by 1. The Bonus damage and damage reduction will have a maximum bonus equal to your Rage damage bonus. All of those Effects will last until the end of your Rage.

If your Rage ends, you will automatically loose all Heat Stacks.

Innate Heat

Starting on 6th level, You will gain a Resistance to Fire damage, in addition if you are damaged by an attack that only deals Fire damage (Except your own attacks) you will generate an additional Point of Heat.

Explosive Soul

You will Explode in a 10-foot Radius and each Creature within this Radius (Including yourself) must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed saving throw, A Creature will take one Heat Dice of Force damage per expendet Heat Stack. On a successful saving throw, A Creature only takes halved damage. This Effect also occurs if your Rage ends by any means but ending Combat.

Returning Embers
