Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Rogues who follow the Thorn Dancer archetype master the art of graceful, lethal combat. Whether at a ball or a battlefield, they move like dancers—elegant, swift, and deadly. Blending elegance, precision, and poison, these assassins strike hard and vanish into the night, leaving only the scent of flowers and blood.

Level 3 Features

Thorn Proficiencies

You gain proficiency in Performance, Poisoner's Kit, and with whips and spiked gauntlets (DM may treat these as reskinned shortswords or daggers).

You can also craft simple poisons for free during a long rest, provided you have access to natural materials or a poisoner’s kit (DM discretion).

Thorn Kiss

Your strikes carry a kiss of death.

  • When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can force it to make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier).

  • On a failure, the creature becomes poisoned until the end of your next turn and takes 1d6 poison damage.

  • This feature can be used once per turn, and a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

  • At 13th level, you can use Thorn Kiss an unlimited number of times.

Crimson Bloom

Your blows cause deep, lingering wounds.

  • When you hit with a melee weapon attack that qualifies for Sneak Attack, you can forgo Sneak Attack damage to cause the target to bleed.

  • The target must make a Constitution saving throw (same DC as Thorn Kiss). On a failure, it suffers 1d4 damage at the start of each of its turns for 1 minute.

  • The bleeding stops early if the creature or an ally spends an action to staunch the wound.

  • You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (min. 1) per long rest.

Level 9 Feature

Deadly Waltz

Your kills become flowing movements through combat.

  • When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a melee weapon attack, you may move up to half your speed and make another melee weapon attack.

  • This second attack can apply Thorn Kiss, and may qualify for Sneak Attack, but you can still only use Sneak Attack once per turn.

  • You can use this feature proficiency bonus times per long rest.

Level 13 Feature

Poisoned Grace

You become a true master of poison.

  • When you deal Sneak Attack damage to a creature that is poisoned, you deal an additional 2d6 poison damage.

  • You have advantage on saving throws against the poisoned condition, and you gain resistance to poison damage.

  • You may craft advanced poisons during a long rest using 50 gp worth of materials. These poisons are chosen or created at your DM’s discretion.

Level 17 Feature

Thorn Princess

You have perfected your assassin’s art.

  • You gain immunity to the poisoned condition.

  • You may now use Thorn Kiss and Crimson Bloom on the same attack.

  • Once per turn, when you hit a creature that is both poisoned and bleeding, you can immediately deal Sneak Attack damage again to that creature as a free reaction. This does not consume your normal reaction.

Thorn Proficiencies

Starting at 3rd level, you can use the bonus action granted by your Cunning Action to make a Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) check, use your thieves’ tools to disarm a trap or open a lock, or take the Use an Object action.

You gain proficiency in Performance, Poisoner's Kit, and with whips and simple weapons.

You can also craft simple poisons for free during a long rest, provided you have access to natural materials or a poisoner’s kit (DM discretion).
