Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

To most, disease is a sapping infection that drains away strength and leaves one weak. To those who know how to wield it's full strength, it is a powerful tool of unfeeling durability and a squall of toxic winds. The warriors most adept at this technique are called Blightbloods; huge, hulking brutes who feel no pain and draw the strength of all those around them. Though many of them may be drawn to wicked paths, those who are not wield the power of nature's deadliest threat within themselves and can use it to lay low entire armies.

Miasma of Pestilence

When you take this subclass at 3rd level, your body becomes host to a variety of terrible plagues which you can wield in combat. While you are raging, you create a cloud of disease around you in a 10ft radius. This cloud is considered to be lightly obscuring terrain, but you are able to see through it unimpeded. The Miasma of Pestilence deals 1d4 Poison damage to any creature other than you that starts it's turn in the cloud's radius or moves into the cloud if they fail a CON with a DC of 8 + your Prof bonus + your CON modifier. The poison damage dealt by Miasma of Pestilence treats immunity to poison damage as resistance.

At 6th level, the poison damage of this feature increases to 1d6.

At 10th level, the poison damage of this feature increases to 1d8.

At 14th level, creatures that take poison damage from this feature must make a DC X CON saving throw or become poisoned. X is equal to your CON score.

Disgustingly Resiliant

When you reach 6th level, the diseases in your body grant you unnatural resilience to pain. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d6. On a 5 or higher, the damage is halved. If the halved damage would be less than your CON score, the damage is negated instead. You can use this feature a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

Favored Poxes

Beginning at 10th level, you gain the ability to infuse your Miasma of Pestilence with the effects of potent diseases to increase it's strength. When you enter a rage, you can apply one of the following effects to your Miasma of Pestilence. A creature can only be under the affect of one of these effects at a time and only a single instance of that effect. These effects last for as long as the creature remains inside your Miasma of Pestilence.

  • Mindaddle Malady: Creatures who take damage from your Miasma of Pestilence lose -1 intelligence and have disadvantage on Concentration checks and INT saving throws.
  • Sapping Pox: Creatures who take damage from your Miasma of Pestilence have a -10 penalty to their movement speed and disadvantage on attack rolls.
  • Blubberbloat: Allies within your Miasma of Pestilence gain a +3 to their armor class and allies have advantage on their CON saving throws against your Miasma of Pestilence.
  • Virulent Bloom: Allies with your Miasma of Pestilence heal 1d8 hitpoints at the start of their turn and allies have advantage on their CON saving throws against your Miasma of Pestilence.

Living Plague

Starting at 14th level, your pestilent abilities take on their final forms, embusing you with the true destructive nature of a plague. Your melee attacks deal an extra 1d6 poison damage and you have advantage on attack rolls against poisoned creatures.

Additionally, when you land a critical hit with a melee attack against a creature, they are treated as being under the effects of the Contagion spell (you may choose which of the effects they suffer from).
