Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins who swear the Oath of the Void draw their power from the ancient and incomprehensible Eldrazi, beings from beyond the known multiverse. These paladins harness the chaotic and destructive energies of the void, using them to protect their allies and annihilate their foes. They are both revered and feared, their presence a reminder of the thin veil that separates the known world from the cosmic horrors that lie beyond.

Tenets of the Void

The tenets of the Void are inscribed on an eldritch altar, guarded by ancient rites and whispered in dark corners of the cosmos. Paladins who swear this oath adhere to these tenets:

Embrace the Unknown: Seek out the mysteries of the void and understand the power that lies beyond the stars. Fear not the darkness, for it holds the keys to ultimate knowledge and power.

Destruction and Renewal: Recognize that destruction is a part of the cycle of creation. Use your powers to tear down the old and corrupt so that new growth can emerge from the ashes.

Balance of Power: Maintain the balance between the void and the material world. Do not let one overtake the other, but use their combined strength to achieve your goals.

Cosmic Justice: Deliver justice as dictated by the void, impartial and unyielding. Let the void’s energy guide your hand in judgment and retribution.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Void Smite: You can use your Channel Divinity to harness the void’s destructive power. When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can use your Channel Divinity to deal an additional 3d10 necrotic damage to the target. This damage bypasses resistance to necrotic damage.

Eldritch Ward: As an action, you can use your Channel Divinity to create a protective ward around yourself or an ally within 30 feet of you. The ward grants resistance to all damage types for 1 minute.

Aura of Despair

Starting at 7th level, your connection to the void exudes an aura of dread and despair. You and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have advantage on saving throws against being frightened. Additionally, enemies within this aura have disadvantage on saving throws against being frightened.

Eldritch Retribution

At 15th level, when you are hit by a melee attack, you can use your reaction to unleash a burst of void energy. The attacker must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the attacker takes necrotic damage equal to half your paladin level and is stunned until the end of their next turn. On a successful save, the attacker takes half as much damage and isn’t stunned.

Avatar of the Void

At 20th level, you can assume the form of a void-infused avatar, channeling the full power of the Eldrazi. As an action, you undergo a transformation that lasts for 1 minute. During this time, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have resistance to all damage types.
  • When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can make one additional attack as part of that action.
  • Your melee weapon attacks deal an additional 2d10 necrotic damage.
  • You emanate an aura of fear in a 30-foot radius. Enemies within this radius must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC at the start of their turns or be frightened until the aura ends. A creature that succeeds on this saving throw is immune to the aura for 24 hours.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
