Base Class: Wizard
Not all wizards are content to hide behind their spellbooks. Spellshots believe that magic and weapons are two halves of the same deadly art. Through relentless practice, they’ve learned to draw, aim, and fire a weapon in one hand while weaving arcane power with the other.
To a Spellshot, a battlefield is not a chessboard — it’s a dueling ground. Each enemy is a target for both lead and lightning, bullets and burning hands. They can unleash a flurry of gunfire laced with magic, bend reality while keeping a steady aim, and maintain multiple incantations at once to overwhelm their foes.
Those who’ve fought a Spellshot often speak of the same thing — the flash of a spell and the crack of a gun happening in the same heartbeat, and then nothing but the ringing in their ears.
Arcane Firearms
You gain proficiency with firearms (if your campaign includes them) and light crossbows. When you use a ranged weapon you are proficient with, you can treat it as a spellcasting focus for your wizard spells.
Spellweaving
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one weapon attack with the casting of a cantrip that has a casting time of 1 action.
Doublecast
You learn to maintain two spells at once. You can concentrate on two different spells at the same time.
-
If you are required to make a Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration, you make one save for each spell.
-
You can’t cast another concentration spell if you are already maintaining two.
Spellbullets
When you hit a creature with a ranged weapon attack, you can expend a spell slot to deal extra damage of the same type as one of your prepared spells.
-
The extra damage is 1d8 per level of the spell slot expended.
-
If the spell slot is of 3rd level or higher, you can also force the target to make a Strength saving throw (DC = your spell save DC) or be pushed 10 feet away.
Arcane Overload
When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action.
If the attack hits, it deals an extra 2d8 damage of the spell’s damage type.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier per long rest.
