Base Class: Warlock
Somewhere hidden between the skies of Dreamland lies a shadowy power that, with the right spells and rituals, any being large or small can bring to the light with a call. It swoops through the seams on stained-glass wings to meddle in the affairs of mortals, but its form and influence mirror the desires of those that summoned it. Will you bring forth a Void of care that wields the stars to destroy, or a kindly pink dream of the dusk's spring breeze?
Level 3: Dreaming
A new form of Void has begun to feel. To desire. To think. It sees you, and like a child, it imitates your will. This creates the following effects:
- Whenever you lethally reduce another creature to 0 hitpoints, that creature's corpse compresses into a colorful magical star about the size of your fist, and anything they were holding or carrying drops to the ground. This star can be taken and stored as an object. As a bonus action from any range, you can cause one or more such stars to detonate in an explosion of rainbows that deals radiant damage equal to twice your warlock level to creatures and objects within a 10 foot radius.
- Whenever you make a new friend or a creature that considers you a friend regains consciousness from 0 hitpoints, you and your friend gain temporary hitpoints equal to your warlock level as a barrier of multicolored floating hearts surrounds you. Additionally, you regain a spell slot of your choice.
Level 3: Pink Void Spells
The magic of your patron ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Warlock level specified in the Void Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Warlock Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Absorb Elements, Color Spray, Calm Emotions, Branding Smite |
| 5 | Create Food and Water, Catnap |
| 7 | Aura of Life, Elemental Bane |
| 9 | Dream, Enervation |
Level 6: Serene Picnic
Approachable laziness is an aspect the Void takes to familiarly; picnics on soft grass beneath the apple tree. This provides the following benefits:
- Whenever you eat food during a short or long rest, you and your allies gain the benefits of the rest in half the normal duration - for instance, four hours for a long rest. At the DM's discretion, your rests could be further quickened by higher quality dining.
- During all your rests and whenever you sleep, an innocuous orange butterfly floats in gentle arcs around your camp. It will alight softly atop any hostile creature that attempts to interrupt your rest and begin to magically consume them, dealing 5d6 force damage and inflicting them with a level of exhaustion. This damage can occur only once per creature per rest, and it increases by 1d6 each time you gain access to a new level of spell slot.
Level 10: Surreal Metamorphosis
Your physical form begins to bend to the logic of a land of Dreams. You can allow yourself to succumb to it as a bonus action, expending a Warlock spell slot to gain one or more of the following benefits of your choice for the next 10 minutes:
- Gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed and the ability to hover, as wings of bone and scintillating crystal sprout from your spine.
- Gain the ability to emit a magical light equivalent in function to a Lantern of Revealing, which shines outwards from a large eye that sprouts out of your mouth.
- Gain two amorphous tar-like tendrils that function as additional limbs with a reach of 15 feet.
- Gain the ability to vertically flatten yourself at will into an unimaginably thin state in which you have resistance to bludgeoning damage and can fit through any sufficiently wide space regardless of the opening's height.
- Gain the ability to use your reaction when you take damage to halve that instance of damage, in exchange for being sent flying uncontrollably directly away from the source of damage, travelling a number of feet through the air equal to the amount of damage you took. This transformation also reduces your weight to one eighth of its normal value.
Level 14: Copy Ability
Finally, you have learned the true nature of the Void's power: the ability to copy. With a star created by your Dreaming feature in hand, you can use a bonus action to absorb the star instead of detonating it. For the next hour, you gain access to one feature of the DM's choice that the creature whom the star was created from possessed while alive. Alternatively, you can instead use your bonus action to hug a willing ally and gain one of that ally's features of their own choice for the same duration.
Once you copy a feature, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
