Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

The Duraak’ash of House Tharashk are elite trackers, bounty hunters, and lawmen. Known as the “Stalking Dragons,” they are masters of pursuit, patience, and precision, able to follow a target across wildlands, cities, and even through layers of deception. While many of their marks can be brought down by lethal force, the Duraak’ash take pride in the ability to subdue their quarry alive, using specialized techniques to immobilize, restrain, or incapacitate without killing.

Duraak’ash operate with a code of precision: patience is a weapon, observation is a tool, and the chase is an art. Whether hunting criminals through the winding alleys of Sharn or across the Mournland’s blasted terrain, a Duraak’ash leaves no trace of their pursuit—and their targets rarely escape.

Level 3: Skilled Tracker

You gain proficiency in Perception (Wisdom) and Investigation (Intelligence). If you are already proficient in either skill, you gain Expertise instead.

Level 3: Catch the Scent

You can mark a creature as your prey if you find and study them or study (touch) for one minute:

A location where they have stayed for more than one consecutive night, or

An object they have carried or kept for at least one week.

Once marked, you gain a supernatural sense of your target:

You always know the general direction they are moving in, and

You can tell if they are moving closer or farther away from you.

This ability functions as long as your target is on the same plane of existence as you, and lasts 24 hours per point of Proficiency Bonus you have, or until you mark a new target.

Flavor: The Duraak’ash is never truly lost. By reading the faintest traces of their prey, they can track across cities, wildlands, or even the scarred wastes of the Mournland

Level 9: Precision Predator

Nonlethal Strikes.
You can choose to make your ranged weapon attacks or Sneak Attack damage nonlethal, allowing you to incapacitate your target without killing them. This works even when your target would normally be reduced to 0 hit points.

Marked Prey Control.
When you hit a creature you have marked with your Catch the Scent feature, you can choose to sacrifice half of your Sneak Attack damage (rounded up) to reduce the target’s movement speed to 0 until the end of its next turn.

Flavor: The Duraak’ash can stop prey in their tracks, subduing them with precision rather than brute force. Even from a distance, their expertise in restraint makes escape nearly impossible.

Level 13: Master Stalker

Dominating Strikes.
You have perfected the art of restraining your foes. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can choose to sacrifice half of your Sneak Attack damage dice (rounded up) to reduce the target’s movement speed to 0 until the end of its next turn, even if the target is not marked.

Marked Prey Precision.
When attacking a creature you have marked with Catch the Scent, you can instead choose to sacrifice only 2d6 of your Sneak Attack dice to reduce that target’s movement speed to 0 until the end of its next turn.

Flavor: Whether stalking a marked quarry or handling an uncooperative opponent, the Duraak’ash moves like a shadow on the battlefield, stopping escape before it even begins.

Level 17: Apex Stalker

You have perfected the art of controlling uncooperative prey, making your attacks with precision and patience almost inescapable.

Marked Prey Domination.
When you hit a creature you have marked with an attack that would normally benefit from Sneak Attack, you can force the target to make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + proficiency bonus + Dexterity modifier). On a failure, the target becomes Incapacitated until the end of its next turn.

Unmarked Subdual.
When you hit a creature you have not marked with an attack that would normally benefit from Sneak Attack, you can forego all Sneak Attack dice to force the target to make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + proficiency bonus + Dexterity modifier). On a failure, the target becomes Incapacitated until the end of its next turn.

Once a creature has succeeded or failed a saving throw against this feature, it cannot be targeted again by it until you finish a long rest.

Flavor: Few can resist the Stalking Dragon. With a single, precise strike, the Duraak’ash can render even the strongest prey helpless, whether they have been carefully tracked for days or simply crossed paths at the wrong moment.
