Base Class: Barbarian
A barbarian who chooses to follow The Path of The Rune Blade is one who seeks an ancient, deep power. As the user of an enhanced weapon, these mystic fighters choose to bolster a particular facet of their combat abilities based on the circumstances they find themselves in. Flexible and dynamic in their battles, rune blades are typically well-traveled, adding runes to their arsenal as they venture deeper into their trek.
Runic Weapon
At 3rd level, at the end of a long rest, you can choose to imbue the power of your runes into any weapon in your possession, transforming it into a runic weapon. While conscious, you cannot be disarmed of this weapon against your will, and you can sense where your runic weapon is at all times if it occupies the same plane as you.
Runes
At 3rd level, you can activate any two basic runes from the basic rune table at the end of every long rest. When you begin a rage, you can awaken one of your weapon's active runes, immediately granting you the benefits it provides. At the end of a long rest, you can choose to change what runes your weapon has active, swapping some or all active runes with dormant ones. During combat, you can expend an action to change which of your active runes is awakened, immediately trading any active runic effects for the effects of the newly awakened rune.
Sharp Magic
Beginning at 6th level, the weapons you imbue with runes become more powerful. Runic weapons count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances and immunity. Additionally, one more dormant rune can be made active at the end of a long rest, increasing the amount of active runes a weapon can have to 3.
Master Craftsman
At 10th level, your runic weapons become even more powerful. You gain a +1 to attack and damage rolls with runic weapons. Additionally, at the start of your rage, you can now choose to awaken 2 active runes, immediately granting you the benefits they both provide.
Rune Mastery
At 14th level, your knowledge of your runes allows you to more effectively use them in combat. One more dormant rune can be made active at the end of a long rest, increasing the amount of active runes a weapon can have to 4. Additionally, you may choose one advanced rune from the advanced rune table and add it to your arsenal.
