Base Class: Barbarian
Path of the Demon
Barbarians who walk the Path of the Demon embrace a violent, destructive force lurking within themselves. Their rage is not merely primal — it is a hunger that gnaws at their flesh and soul, empowering them at a terrible cost.
When these warriors unleash their inner persona, they trade blood for power. Every swing of their weapon is fueled by self-inflicted torment, and every wound only drives them further into a frenzy. Those who survive long enough to master this path become living avatars of fury, demons clad in mortal flesh, and their very presence on the battlefield is a terrifying omen of ruin.
Level 3: Demonic Frenzy
3rd-level Path of the Demon
-
Empowered Rage. While raging, your melee weapon attacks deal an extra 1d6 damage, once per turn (this stacks with your normal Rage damage).
-
Blood Offering. At the start of your turn while raging, you may choose a damage die: d4, d6, d8, d10, or d12. Roll it. You take damage equal to the result (this damage ignores resistance and immunity). Until the start of your next turn, when you hit with a melee weapon attack, you add the result of that die to your damage roll (once per turn, just like your Rage bonus).
Flesh of the Abyss
6th-level Path of the Demon
Your rage warps your body with infernal resilience.
-
Whenever you use Blood Offering, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Constitution modifier.
-
While raging, you have resistance to fire damage and necrotic damage.
Relentless Torment
10th-level Path of the Demon
Pain drives your fury even further.
-
Whenever you take damage from Blood Offering, you also add your Constitution modifier as bonus damage to the same attack.
-
While raging, if you are reduced below half your maximum hit points, you gain advantage on attack rolls until the end of your next turn.
Demon Ascendant
14th-level Path of the Demon
You have become the embodiment of your empowered persona.
-
At the start of your turn while raging, you may choose to maximize your Blood Offering die (taking maximum damage but also adding maximum bonus damage).
-
Once per rage, when you are reduced to 0 hit points by damage, you may instead drop to 1 hit point and immediately make one melee weapon attack with advantage.
