Base Class: Paladin
Paladins who swear the Oath of the Turning Point devote themselves to the defense of truth, the preservation of family and community, and the power of persuasion to soften even the hardest of hearts. These knights believe that every person reaches a crossroads in their life—a moment when they must decide whether to continue down a path of folly or to turn toward the light. The paladin’s calling is to embody that light, not only by example but by word, reason, and faith.
While other paladins may rely on sword and shield alone, a Turning Point paladin is as much a speaker as a warrior. They engage their foes with clarity, honesty, and steadfastness, seeking to resolve conflict through understanding when possible, but never shying from righteous battle when the moment demands it. In their presence, fear falters, doubt diminishes, and hearts are stirred to conviction.
To swear the Oath of the Turning Point is to bind oneself to the traditions that sustain family, culture, and community, while remaining open to dialogue with those who disagree. Such paladins are often found in courts, marketplaces, and assemblies as readily as they are on the battlefield, wielding both word and weapon as tools of change.
Channel Divinity
3rd-level Oath of the Turning Point feature
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Words of Conviction. You can use your Channel Divinity to bolster your speech. As an action, choose a number of creatures up to your Charisma modifier within 30 feet who can hear you. Each chosen creature gains advantage on their next saving throw against being frightened or charmed, and you can make a Persuasion check against one hostile creature as part of this action. On a success, that creature is charmed by you until the end of your next turn.
Stand Firm. As an action, you can use your Channel Divinity to become an unshakable example of faith. For 1 minute, you and allies within 10 feet cannot be moved against your will, and you gain temporary hit points equal to your paladin level + your Charisma modifier.
