Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of the Final Act understand that a noble sacrifice or a dramatic demise can be more powerful and inspiring than any victory. They are storytellers, dirge-singers, and masters of catharsis, specializing in the potent emotions found in tragedy's final chapter.

These bards learn to weave this understanding into their performances and magic. They don't just prevent allies from falling, but they ensure that if they do, their story ends on a perfect, unforgettable note. They bolster their companions in the face of certain failure, cheat death for a final, decisive act, and use the emotional weight of loss to fuel their most powerful magic. Theirs is the art of the meaningful end, turning tragedy into a legacy and a final breath into a standing ovation.

Level 3: Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of the Final Act at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Heavy Armor and the Disguise Kit.

Level 3: Dramatic Resolve

At 3rd level, when you, or a friendly creature you see within 30 feet of you, fail a saving throw, you can use your reaction to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration. Roll the Bardic Inspiration die and add the number rolled to the saving throw.

Level 6: Curtain Call

At 6th level, when a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see drops to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to grant them a final action. The creature immediately gains a number of temporary hit points equal to 1d8 + your Charisma modifier and can immediately use its reaction to make one additional attack. Once you use this, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Level 14: Encore

At 14th level, when you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can choose to drop to 1 hit point instead. You then gain a number of temporary hit points equal to half your Bard level + your Charisma modifier. Once you use this, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
