Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Fractured Gate fold space with their ki. They sketch glowing mandalas in the air, slip their fists through temporary portals, and strike from impossible angles. As their mastery grows, they channel greater amounts of ki into each gate for devastating effect and warp the battlefield with short rifts.

Level 3: Rift Step

As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point to teleport up to 10 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.

If you use this immediately before making an attack on your turn, you gain advantage on the first unarmed strike you make that turn.

This represents the very first spark of true spatial manipulation.

Level 3: Dimensional Strike

At 3rd level you can punch through space.

  • Portal Punch.  When you make an unarmed strike on your turn, you can target a creature you can see within 30 feet as though it were within reach.  This counts as a melee attack for all purposes and does not provoke opportunity attacks.
  • Overload.  You can empower the strike by spending ki.  For every ki point you spend (maximum equal to your proficiency bonus), the attack deals an extra Marital Arts die of force damage on a hit.

Level 6: Step Through Space

At 6th level your control of rifts expands.

  • As a bonus action you can spend 2 ki points to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. Immediately after teleporting you can make one unarmed strike as part of the same bonus action.

  • Alternatively, when you take the Attack action you may replace one of your attacks with opening a small gate that lasts until the start of your next turn. You and friendly creatures within 5 feet of the gate can use it to teleport up to 10 feet to another unoccupied space you can see within 10 feet of the gate (no action required).

Level 11: Rending Rift

At 11th level your gates tear at your enemies.

  • When you hit a creature with a Dimensional Strike, you can spend 2 ki points to rend the space around it. The target takes an extra 2d6 force damage and must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or be pulled up to 15 feet in a straight line toward a point you can see within 15 feet of it.

  • Your Dimensional Strike range increases to 60 feet. You can now spend up to twice your proficiency bonus in ki on Overload.

Level 17: Master of the Infinite Path

At 17th level you become a true gate-weaver.

  • When you use your Step Through Space, you can spend 4 ki points to cast dimension door on yourself without material components.

  • Your Dimensional Strike can now reach 60 feet and you can spend up to 3× your proficiency bonus ki points on Overload.

  • Once per long rest you can, as an action, open a swirling portal large enough for up to six creatures of your choice to step through. This functions as teleportation circle but lasts only 1 round and requires no material components.
