Base Class: Barbarian
The Path of the Chef is a sensible one, as you learn to channel your rage into something more productive. Cooking delicious food!
Novice Cook
At 3rd level, you know the best ways to create dishes, balancing herbs and heat. You can add your Constitution modifier to checks made to cook food and create dishes.
Proficiencies. You gain proficiency with the cook's utensils and herbalism kit, assuming you don’t already have them. You also gain the cook's utensils and an herbalism kit for free—the result of the cooking and baking you’ve done as you’ve prepared for this specialization.
You also learn the Control Flames and Shape Water cantrips, and can cast them even while raging.
Spellcasting Ability.
Constitution is your spellcasting ability for your barbarian spells. You use your Constitution whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Constitution modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a barbarian spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier
Recipe for Disaster
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, taking hits causes your temper to boil. When you enter your rage and, immediately after you take damage while raging, choose one of the following flavors to gain, each flavor can only stack up to a certain point:
- Spicy. Gain a +1 to hit and a +1 to damage rolls (caps at a number of stacks equal your Strength modifier)
- Salty. Reduce all incoming damage by 1 (caps at a number of stacks equal your Constitution modifier)
- Sweet. Gain a +5 to your movement speed (caps at a number of stacks equal to your Dexterity modifier)
When your rage ends, all stacks reset to 0.
Save Some for Me
Starting at 6th level, you have to help divvy up portions. When a creature within 5 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to magically split the damage between you and the target creature. Any damage reductions are applied after the damage has been split, not before.
Simmer Down
Beginning at 6th level, you learn to focus your negative energies into more productive areas. Starting when your rage ends, you gain the ability to cast spells for the next 10 minutes. You are able to cast each of the following spells once and they do not require components or expending spell slots:
- Prestidigitation
- Calm Emotions
- Create Food and Water
- Detect Poison and Disease
- Heat Metal
- Unseen Servant
Spells cast this way do not require concentration. If you cast a spell that has a duration, its effects will last the duration of the spell and does not end when you lose the ability to cast spells.
Boil Over
Beginning at 10th level, you emanate a seething aromatic aura while you rage. Friendly creatures within 10 feet of you gain the same benefits you do from the Spicy and Salty stacks granted by your Recipe for Disaster ability. When a friendly creature starts their turn in your aura they can use their reaction to gain the effect of your Sweet stacks until the end of their turn.
In addition, while there are 3 or more friendly creatures in your aura (including yourself), you each gain resistance to fire damage.
Master Chef
At 14th level, your Recipe for Disaster has been refined, when you enter a rage, you automatically start out with one stack of each flavor.
Also, your Simmer Down ability cooks low and slow, the time you have to cast spells is increased to 1 hour. You also add Heroes' Feast to the list of spells you can cast with your Simmer Down ability. The spell does not require a spell slot, however it still requires its material component.

Posted Jun 22, 2023Hey, m not sure if you know this, but the spellcasting on this class isn't working and neither are the proficiencies getting added.
Any way to fix this?
