The Winged Hussar is a mounted warrior whose mastery of mobility, courage, and overwhelming momentum makes them terrifying on the charge. Whether leading cavalry or fighting on foot, they embody honor, speed, and spectacle. Often trained by nobility, they have studied the tactics of war and combat, allowing them to further strike their enemies down. 

Level 3: Loyal Steed

You have formed a great bond to a spiritual steed during your training. You learn to cast the Find Steed spell at 2nd level, which you can cast an amount of times equal to your Intelligence Modifier per long rest. You also gain proficiency in Animal Handling and History. 

At level 7: Your bond grows stronger, and thus you can now cast the spell at 4th level. 

Level 3: Charge!

Your training with cavalry charges, grant you Advantage on Initiative rolls when mounted.

When you move at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and hit it with a melee weapon attack, you can immediately deal an extra 1d6 Bludgeoning damage. If the target has not yet taken a turn yet, you deal an additional 1d6 Bludgeoning damage. 

Level 7: Winged Rider

You sprout a pair of wings from your back. These wings last for 1 minute, and can be used an amount of times equal to your Intelligence Modifier per long rest. You gain the following benefits:

  • You and your mount no longer provoke Opportunity Attacks.
  • You add your Intelligence modifier to your attack rolls (Minimum of 1).
  • After hitting an enemy with an attack, you strike fear into your enemies. They must succeed on a Wisdom Saving Throw or become frightened for the duration of your wings (Save DC = 8 + INT modifier + STR modifier).  The target can use an action to try to end this effect early, by succeeding on the same Wisdom Saving Throw. 

Level 10: Imposing Presence

Your imposing presence, demoralizes enemies and inspires your allies. You can take the following reactions an amount of times equal your Intelligence modifier + proficiency bonus per long rest:

  • Whenever you are within 60 ft of an enemy who can see you, and it hits you or your ally, you can use a reaction to reduce the incoming damage by 1d6. 
  • Whenever you are within 60 ft of an target who can see you, and it hits an enemy, you can use a reaction to increase the damage by 1d6. The type of damage is determined by the spell or weapon.  

This reaction can be used after determining if the attack hits, but before damage is calculated. 

Level 15: Relentless Charge

Upon using Action Surge, you regain half of your and your mounts movement speed. 

Your Charge! no longer deals 1d6 additional Bludgeoning damage, but is now 1d10 additional Bludgeoning damage. If the target has not yet taken a turn yet, you also now deal an additional 1d10 Bludgeoning damage.

Level 18: Superior Wings

Your experience in battle, has allowed you to improve your wings. When you use your Winged Rider feature, you additonaly gain further bonuses:

  • You and an amount of creatures equal to your intelligence modifier, gain temporary hitpoints equal to your Intelligence modfier + Proficiency bonus.
  • You and your mount gain 20 ft movement speed. 
  • You now also add your Intelligence modifier to your damage rolls.
