Monk
Base Class: Monk

A subclass for people whose DM loves unbalanced homebrew.

Level 3: Lightning Technique

Starting at 3rd level, whenever you make an Unarmed Strike, you can choose for that attack to deal Lightning damage or its normal damage type. If you choose to make it deal Lightning damage, that attack’s damage ignores resistance to Lightning damage, and you can choose to make that Unarmed Strike as a ranged attack with a short range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet rather than a melee attack.

Level 3: Lightning Speed

At 3rd level, your speed and awareness are heightened. You can add your Wisdom modifier to your Initiative rolls, and the speed bonus you gain from your Unarmored Movement is doubled.

Level 6: Paralyzing Strike

Once you reach 6th level, whenever you use your Stunning Strike on an Unarmed Strike that dealt Lightning damage, you can do so without expending a Focus Point, and if the target fails their saving throw, they gain the Paralyzed condition until the start of your next turn.

Level 11: Thunderous Reflexes

By 11th level, your reflexes have been honed greatly. Whenever you expend a Focus Point to use Flurry of Blows, you can take one additional reaction before the start of your next turn. Alternatively, you can expend a Focus Point to take an additional reaction at any time without using Flurry of Blows. Once you take an additional reaction using this feature, you can’t do so again until the start of your next turn.

Level 11: Thunderous Tolerance

At 11th level, you have grown tolerant to the natural forces that you harness. You have resistance to Lightning and Thunder damage, and you have immunity to the Deafened, Paralyzed, and Stunned conditions.

Level 17: Storm’s Soul

Upon reaching 17th level, you can take a second turn during each round of combat at your normal Initiative but without any modifiers to the roll. You can only take this second turn if you expend 2 Focus Points at the start of that turn.

Additionally, once per turn when you deal Lightning damage to a creature with an Unarmed Strike, you can deal additional Thunder damage to that creature as part of that attack equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die plus your Wisdom modifier and give that creature the Deafened condition until the start of your next turn. This damage ignores resistance to Thunder damage.
