Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Chain Master are creative martial artists that prefer to have versatility in and out of combat. Acolytes of the Chain learn ways to control the battlefield so they have the advantage. They also learn ways they can use their chain weapons to creatively navigate through difficult obstacles like using them as grappling hooks to swing or climb a little higher than they'd normally be able to. When a monk masters the Way of the Chain they become a truly deadly weapon.
Chain Weapons
At level 3, your daggers, light hammers, and sickles are considered chain weapons and when you use these weapons they have reach. Many of this tradition’s features work only with your chain weapons.
While dual wielding these weapons they are both connected by the chain. Because of this you can drop a weapon and re-equip it as free actions as much as you like as long as you are still holding one of the weapons.
Chain Prison
At level 3, while wielding a chain weapon you can grapple with the weapon whether or not you have a free hand. When you grapple this way you use Dexterity (Acrobatics) rather than Strength (Athletics).
Come Hither
At level 6, when you hit a target with a chain weapon, you can spend 1 ki point to attempt use come hither to move that creature 5ft closer to you as long as the creatures is the same size or smaller.
If that creature is a size or more larger than you, instead you get moved 5ft closer.
Battlefield Waltz
At 11th level, you learn to use your ki to bolster your momentum. You gain the following benefits.
Lead - When you hit another creature with a chain weapon attack, you can spend 1 ki point to attempt to lead your opponent. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or you swap positions with them.
Follow through - When you successfully lead a creature, you can spend 2 ki points and use your reaction to push them 5 feet away from you.
Unbounded Momentum
At level 17, you have mastered the chain weapon allowing you to defy physics. When you use Come Hither you can do either effect and the creature's size no longer matters.
