Base Class: Wizard
You have focused your study of magic on manipulating the elemental forces of the earth, shaping stone and dirt to your will. Earth magic is usually viewed as being dirty and messy, causing some wizards and magical institutions to look down on its practitioners. But for those willing to endure stigma and ridicule in the name of exploring one of the most ancient forms of magic and unleashing power that can level entire civilizations, it just might be worth it. From destroying entire cities to forming literal mountains to protect those in need, Geomancers have earned a reputation for being power incarnate.
Greater Mold Earth
Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, you learn the cantrip Mold Earth however your specific studies in the field of earth magic have improved it. You can now effect a 10-foot cube of dirt or stone, rather than the usual 5. You can also move the affected dirt or stone 10 feet away, rather than 5. And the effects of this cantrip are now permanent, rather than lasting for only 1 hour.
Earthen Armor
Beginning at 2nd level, you mold dirt and stone onto your body to increase your AC by 2.
At 8th level you can spend an action to put Earthen Armor on a 2nd individual (besides yourself), but it requires concentration to maintain it on the other person. At 16th level you can spend an action to put Earthen Armor on 3 other individuals, also requiring concentration to maintain. At 20th level you no longer need to maintain concentration to Earthen Armor on others.
Tremor Alterations
Starting at 6th level, your study of earth magic has progressed to a point where you can choose to alter your spells with micro tremors in very specific ways. When you cast an applicable spell you can choose to add one of the following effects.
- Move an Individual 5 ft in any direction.
- Knock an Individual prone.
- Add 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
- Add Difficult Terrain to an area.
- A group of people in an area uncontrollably vomit for their entire next turn or the next 6 seconds.
After using this feature you need to complete a short rest before using it again.
Friend of the Stone
Beginning at 10th level, you have spent so much time learning to manipulate earth magic that you have created an Earth Elemental companion. The Earth Elemental is friendly to you and your allies, and the two of you share a telepathic bond while you are within 60ft of each other. It will carry out your commands to the best of its abilities, if you are incapacitated or absent it will act on its own prioritizing defending you and itself.
It takes its turn on your initiative, though only acting if you command it to. On your turn you can telepathically or verbally (If you know Terran) order it to move as a free action. On your turn you can spend a bonus action to order the Earth Elemental to attack or otherwise use its attack action (Such as Dashing, and so on). It takes its reaction as normal without having to be commanded, but can be ordered to specifically take or not take its reaction.
If you are within 5ft of the Earth Elemental you can use your control of earth magic to spend a bonus action to pull it onto your body, melding it into your Earthen Armor but reducing its size so that almost your entire body is covered in dirt and stone. While your Earth Elemental is melded into your Earthen Armor it gives you an additional +4 bonus to your AC (For a total of 6 bonus to your AC through Earthen Armor), but reduces your speed by 10 ft. You can then spend a bonus action to release it from your body, causing it to revert to its usual size and placing it in a space within 5ft of you.
If the Earth Elemental is killed, you can spend 8 hours in magical meditation to shape a new Earth Elemental into existence.
(To add your Earth Elemental companion to your D&D Beyond Character Sheet, go to the Extra/Creatures tab, select Manage Extras/Creatures, under Add Extra/Creatures scroll to the Pet Category and make sure "Filter Using Pet Rules" is checked).
Seismic Spells
Starting at 14th level, your study of earth magic grants you access to spells that would normally be unavailable to wizards. You have learned the Meld into Stone spell, the Bones of the Earth spell, and the Earthquake spell, and are treated as wizard spells. Due to your mastery of earth magic Earthquake counts as a 7th level spell.
