Way of the Stage (updated)

An aaracockra bounds across the battlefield, propelling himself into the air with the tip of his spear. He is a blur of feathers and flowing robes as he seeks his prey with dangerous beauty. A Tiefling spins with incredible speed as they balance on the tip of their shoe, the crowd before them roaring in admiration. This is their moment, and they rise to meet it. A Dragonborn drop into a split as her enemies' axe swings overhead, missing by inches. As her companion sneaks behind for the kill, she spins to her feet and plants a hard strike to the enemies' gut, keeping their attention strictly on her. 

This is the Way of the Stage. In contrast to more traditional monks who rely on their wisdom and mediation to channel their spiritual ki, practitioners of the way of the stage access a different kind of power. They rely on their charisma and the flow of peak perfomance to fuel their battle maneuvers. From fearless acts of gravity defying wonder to performances of jaw-dropping, enrapturing spectacle. 

Live for the Limelight

You have the option to use Charisma as your primary ability instead of Wisdom.

Eyes on Me

After hitting a creature with a flurry of blows attack, you can force them to make a CHA save against your Ki save. On a fail, target creature is distracted by you for 1 minute. While distracted, the creature has disadvantage on attacks against creatures other than you. In addition, if a distracted creature hits with an attack against a creature other than you, you may make a melee attack as a reaction. 

Stage Presence

Starting at 6th level, if you do not have it already, you gain proficiency in all four CHA skills.

In the Zone

Starting at 6th level, as a Bonus Action, you can spend any number of ki points and raise your AC by that amount until the start of your next turn. 

Reliable Talent

Starting at 11th level, on a roll with a proficient skill, any roll lower than a 10 is treated as a 10.

 

Play to the crowd

Starting at 17th level, you have advantage on attacks against targets affected by your Eyes on me ability. In addition, your attacks against targets affected by Eyes on me crit on 18-20.
