Base Class: Bard

a performer who uses magical, enchanted theater masks to take on different personas and gain unique abilities in combat. By swapping these masks, the bard can instantly change their role, gaining powers like flight, defensive bonuses, or even the ability to breathe underwater.

Level 3: copycat

At 3rd level, the bard can shift their appearance to match a person. As an action, the bard can use one Bardic Inspiration to cast the alter self spell. The bard uses the spell's Change Appearance option to transform into another humanoid the bard has seen. When cast in this way, the spell has these changes: 
  • It doesn't require concentration, but the spell can end at any time.
  • The bard gains 5 temporary hit points, and the spell ends if these hit points are lost or if the bard dies.
  • The bard gains new equipment associated with the target, including clothing, armor, weapons, and other small belongings. Any equipment gained in this way has no magical properties, even if the original object used by the target had them.
  • Any equipment the bard was wearing or carrying merges into the new form, and the bard can't activate, use, wield, or benefit from any of it.

When you join the College of Masks at 3rd level, you gain the ability to weave arcane boons into theatre masks, which grant you abilities when worn. Theatre Masks. You craft two masks of your choice, which are detailed under the "Masks" section below. You're able to craft one additional mask of your choice at 7th, 11th, and 15th level. Each time you craft a new mask, you can also replace one mask you've already crafted with a different one. While wearing a mask, you gain the abilities granted by it. You may don or swap masks as an action or bonus action. Any mask DC is equal to your spell save DC.

you gain proficiency in athletics

mask of the banshee

while wearing the mask you gain the following

you can cast the speak with dead spell 3 times per long rest
you can spend one use of your bardic inspiration to move into the ethereal plane for one minute. you can do this a number of times equal to your charisma modifier (minimum of once)

mask of the demon

while wearing the mask you gain the following

you may use an action to be able to see through objects and walls that are 5ft thick or less for one minute
you gain darkvision out to a range of 120ft and blindsight out to a range of 10ft

mask of the divine

while wearing this mask you gain the following

you gain resistance to radiant damage
you gain a 30ft fly speed

mask of the fox

while wearing this mask you gain the following
You can move through a hostile creature's space, regardless of its size, and another creature's space isn't considered difficult terrain for you but cannot end your turn there
Your AC increases by 1.
When you make a Dexterity saving throw, you can use your reaction to gain advantage on the roll.

mask of the golem

while wearing this mask you gain the following

your reach increases by 5 ft
your melee attacks deal additional damage equal to one roll of your bardic inspiration dice

mask of the protagonist

while wearing this mask you gain the following

you gain proficiency in performance and persuasion
once per long rest you can mark a creature as your antagonist causing their ability checks against you to have disadvantage and when they make an attack against you you may use your reaction to give them disadvantage on that attack roll

mask of the sea urchin

while wearing this mask you gain the following

you may spend a bardic inspiration die to heal for the number rolled plus your proficiency bonus
once per long rest you can use an action to force a creature within 20ft to make a constitution saving throw against your spell save or be paralysed for 1 minute, the creature may attempt the save again on each of its turns

captivated audience

if you perform for one minute anyone who can hear or see you must make a wisdom save against your spell save or be charmed or frightened by you for one minute (your choice) they can attempt the save again on each of their turns

gift of theatre

you may now spend an action to give one of your created masks to an ally within 5ft of you
or
you may wear 2 masks at once gaining the benefits of both
