Base Class: Bard
The whole world is a stage to a College of Musical Bard. After learning the ins and outs of musical theatre, they have brought their setlist to the dungeons for all to enjoy. They have combined their music craft and their spellwork to enhance each other, using classical musical songs to enrich their spells to give them an even a greater edge on their adventure.
Level 3: Spell Song
At 3rd level, you have learned how to turn the spells you cast into musical numbers, giving you additional benefits as you sing them. When you use an action to cast a spell with a spell slot and requires concentration, you can expend a bardic inspiration to start a Spell Song which last for 1 minute. If either the Spell or Spell Song ends, the other ends as well. While your Spell Song is active, you gain the following benefits:
- You can use your Performance Skill instead of Constitution saving throw to maintain Concentration.
- You can take the Dash and Disengage action as a Bonus Action.
- You can chose a song to perform, giving you an additional benefit.
Level 3: The "I Want" Song
At 3rd level, when you start a Spell Song, you can choose to start performing an "I Want" song. If you do, as long as the Spell Song is active, you can make an Unarmed Strike as a Bonus action. You can use Charisma instead of Strength for the attack rolls of this Unarmed Strike. You also choose one of the following three effects to gain:
- To Adventure and have Freedom: You have Advantage on Depection Checks. When you deal damage with an Unarmed Strike, you can deal Bludgeoning damage equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die plus your Charisma modifier, instead of the strike’s normal damage. This roll doesn't expend the die. Your spirit of adventure lets you strike out into the world!
- To Love and have Friendship: You have Advantage on Persuasion Checks. When you Grapple with an Unarmed Strike, you can use Charisma instead of Strength for the DC. Anyone you have Grappled is Charmed by you. Dance with a partner as you let the world know of the relationship you hope to find.
- To Rule and have Power: You have Advantage on Intimidation Checks. When you Shove with an Unarmed Strike, you can use Charisma instead of Strength for the DC. Anyone you successfully Shove is Frightened of you until the start of your next turn. Push and knock over anyone in your way as you let everyone know who is in charge.
Level 6: Distant Duet
At 6th level, you always have the Sending Spell prepared.
You can start a Duet with someone far away to communicate. When you cast Sending, you can spend a Bardic Inspiration to start a Spell Song. A Spell Song started this way doesn't chose a song to sing and instead gains the following benefit:
- You can cast Sending without using a Spell Slot. Your can only target the same creature with the spell when casting it this way.
Level 6: Expanded Songlist
At 6th level, when you expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration as part of an Action, a Bonus Action, or a Reaction while your Spell Song is active, you can change the selected song choice. You can select one of the following three songs for your Spell Song:
- The "I Am" Song: When you fail a d20 test, you can roll a Bardic Inspiration Die and add the number rolled to the d20, potentially turning the failure into a success. When you use this feature, the Spell Song ends unless you user your reaction to expend a use or your Bardic Inspiration.
- The "Somewhere" Song: When you take the Dash or Disengage action on your turn, you gain a 30ft fly speed until the end of the turn.
- The "Quarreling" Song: Add your Bardic Inspiration Die to the damage you deal with any Bard cantrip. This roll doesn’t expend the die.
The Finale
At 14th level, when you start a Spell Song, you can choose for it to be The Finale. If you do, your Spell Song gains one of the following benefits:
- The Epic: The Spell Song and the Spell you are concentrating on have the duration of 1hr.
- The Reprise: You Spell Song gains the benefit of an additional Song. When you use Expended Songlist to change a song, you can choose to change both songs at once.
- The Sing Along: Any creature of your choice within 60ft that can see or hear you gains the benefits of your Spell Song. Creatures can use your Performance bonus for their Performance check.
You can only use this feature once per long rest.
