Base Class: Sorcerer
Being a Sorcerer of the eclipse does not come without its problems. Once a lost art, you may have decided to help bring it back from obscurity or it may have been forced upon you by those that do. Either way, once the ritual of the eclipse is completed and your body is magically imbued with the innate magic sun and moon, be it blessing or curse.
Sun and Moon Spells
When you choose this origin at 1st level, you have two separate lists of spells known as apposed to the normal one: A list of Sun Spells, and a list of Moon Spells. Spells from the schools of Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, and Evocation are considered to be spells of the Sun, while spells from the school of Enchantment, Illusion, Necromancy, and Transmutation, are treated as Moon Spells. Chosen spells are from the Sorcerer Spell list.
The spells known column in the sorcerer table shows how many spells you know, and you know that many from each of your spell lists; sun and moon. This means you have two lists of spells known, from two separate spell lists.
Dual Casting
You can only ever access one of your spell lists at a time, depending on the time of day. You choose which of your lists is active whenever you finish a short or long rest. Immediately after you cast a Sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, you have to roll 1d6;
On a roll of 1, your list of Sun spells (if its day) or your list of Moon spells (if its night) becomes active, if it is not already.
On a roll of 2, you switch your current active list from Sun to Moon or vice versa
You may cast a spell from your inactive list of spells known, if you spend the same number of sorcery points require to create a spell slot of the level you are using. You must still expend the spell slot as normal. (Ex. If you wish to use a 2nd level spell, you must spend 3 Sorcery points.)
Sun's Eyes & Moon's Eyes
Starting at 6th level, while your list of Sun spells is active, you can see magical auras as per the Detect Magic spell.
While your list of Moon spells is active, you can see normally in darkness, both magical and non-magical within a distance of 120ft.
Sun & Moon's Light
At 14th level, whenever you cast a spell that deals damage, you can spend 2 sorcery points to change its damage type to Radiant (Sun) or Necrotic (Moon) damage depending on your
active spell list.
In addition, whenever you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose to increase (Sun) or decrease (Moon) the lighting conditions within 90ft of you by one step, depending on your active spell list. (Ex. Bright to Dim/Dim to Darkness if you use a Moon spell, or Vice Versa.) This effect lasts until the start of your next turn.
Master of Duplicity
At 18th Level, whenever you roll the 1d6 after casting a spell because of your Dual Casting ability, you can roll twice and choose which result to use.
Additionally, you gain resistance to Radiant (Sun) or Necrotic (Moon), depending on which list is active.
