Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of endless torment study the ways in which fear can be weaponised and mastered. They enjoy power, control and discipline, ruling with an iron fist and suing the fear they instill in others as a means to an end. Using torture, brutality and terror, these monks bring regimented doses of pain and suffering on their subjects.

Acolyte of Terror

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level you have become numb to the feeling of fear, and know how best to prey on those scared of you. You have advantage on saving throws against the fear condition.

Additionally, once per turn when you hit a target within 5 feet of you that is scared of you with a monk weapon or unarmed strike, you can deal bonus damage equal to your martial arts die.

Spiritual Fear

As an action, spend 2 ki points to strike fear into the soul of a creature that can hear or see you and is within 30 feet of you. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw against your ki save DC. On a success, the creature is immune to this ability's effect for 24 hours. On a failure, the creature is scared of you for 10 minutes. You can use this feature once per short or long rest. At level 10, you can use this ability twice between rests, and 3 times when you reach level 18.

Revel in Pain

Starting at 6th level, when a creature within 10 feet of you takes damage on a turn, gain gain 1 temporary hit point, or 3 temporary hit points if the creature is scared of you or one of your allies. You can gain a maximum amount of temporary hit points from this feature equal to half your monk level (Rounded down). You lose any temporary hit points gained from this feature 1 minute after combat ends, 1 minute after you gained them if you were not in combat.

Merciless Spirit

At 11th level, when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a strike from your flurry of blows, regain 1 ki point.

Master of Fear

At 17th level, you master the art of terror, becoming immune to the fear and charmed conditions and gaining resistance to psychic damage. Additionally, you have advantage on any Deception, Persuasion or Intimidation checks made against targets that are scared of you.
