Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of the Dragonsguard is taken by paladins who pledge service to Bahamut, the dragon god of justice and honor. Sometimes called Scale Knights or Talons - after the order The Talons of Justice, these paladins represent Bahamut's will while opposing the forces of Tiamat and working to contain the damage caused by the wars between dragonkind. Because their focus on the long term and combating Tiamatan threats is paramount over more the immediate needs of lesser races, they are often viewed as aloof and enigmatic. Their armor bears little embellishment, only a single holy symbol of Bahamut and occasionally a sigil representing one of Bahamut's Seven Great Gold Wyrms that the paladin's deeds most resemble.

Channel Divinity: Borkadd's Judgement

Using a bonus action you call on Borkadd's aid to ensure your attack strikes true. The first attack of your next attack action causes a critical hit. On your subsequent turn, if you take the attack action, you must do so with disadvantage.

Channel Divinity: Draconic Threat

As an action you roar an ancient draconic threat. Any creature within 30 feet of you that is reptile, draconic, or understands Draconic must make a Charisma Saving Throw unless it is immune to being frightened. If the creature fails its saving throw, it is frightened for 1 minute or until it takes damage.

A frightened creature must spend its turns trying to move as far away from you as it can, and it also can't willingly move to a space within 30 feet of you. It also can't take reactions. For its action, it can use only the Dash action or try to escape from an effect the prevents it from moving. If there's nowhere to move, the creature can use the Dodge action. If a creature has broken line of sight with you, as an action, the creature can make a wisdom check against your spell save DC to steel its resolve. On a Success, it is no longer frightened. On a fail, it remains frightened.

Aura of Elemental Resistance

Beginning at 7th level, draconic power emanates from you. You and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have resistance to elemental damage.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Marroshok's Fortitude

Starting at 15th level, parts of your skin are covered by a sheen of dragon-like scales, giving you resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

Your aging has slowed to an imperceptible crawl and you can't be aged magically.

Bahamut's Champion

At 20th level, you are able to become a vessel of draconic power. Using your action, you undergo a transformation.

For 2 minutes you gain the following benefits:

  • You may add your Charisma modifier to your weapon damage and AC.
  • Whenever you cast a paladin spell that has a casting time of 1 action, you can cast it using a bonus action instead.
  • Enemy creatures within 10 feet of you have disadvantage on saving throws against your paladin spells and channel divinity options.

After the transformation ends, you suffer one level of exhaustion. You can extend your state under this transformation: for each additional minute transformed you suffer another level of exhaustion.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
