Base Class: Paladin
Paladins who swear the Oath of Autumn are champions of change and the cycles of life. They honor growth and decay, understanding that endings make way for new beginnings. For them, labor, diligence, and reflection are sacred, and a life well-lived leaves a lasting legacy. These paladins guide others through transition, finding beauty in impermanence and strength in balance. They wield both scythe and shield as symbols of mortality and protection, reminding the world that even in decline, there is purpose, hope, and quiet majesty.
TENETS OF AUTUMN
The tenets of the Oath of Autumn guide paladins in reflecting on the past, embracing the present, and preparing for the future. They honor the cycles of life, understand the value of hard work, and strive to leave a lasting legacy.
Reap Your Rewards. Through diligence and effort, one earns the fruits of their labor. Take pride in your accomplishments.
Reflect on the Past. The past holds lessons and guidance. Study it, learn from it, and use its wisdom to guide others who walk a path similar to yours.
Embrace the Cycle. From death, new life will spring. Instill hope in those who falter and help them understand the cycles of nature.
Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options:
Harvest Scythe. As an action, you can use your Channel Divinity to infuse a weapon you are holding with the decaying magic of autumn. For 1 minute, the weapon gains the following properties:
- You can choose for its attacks to deal necrotic damage instead of its normal damage type. If you use Divine Smite, it deals necrotic damage instead of radiant damage.
- Creatures hit by this weapon cannot regain hit points until the start of your next turn.
- Once on each of your turns, when you hit a creature, you gain temporary hit points equal to half your paladin level, rounded up.
You can end this effect on your turn as part of any other action. If you are no longer holding or carrying this weapon, or if you fall unconscious, this effect ends.
Blessing of Autumn. As an action, you can use your Channel Divinity to attune yourself to the rhythms of nature. For 1 hour, you gain advantage on all Intelligence (Nature), Wisdom (Animal Handling), and Wisdom (Survival) checks you make.

Aura of the Looming Fog
At 7th level, you exude an aura that mirrors a misty autumn morning. While you are conscious, you and all allies within 10 feet of you are lightly obscured, as if walking through a gentle fog. In addition, you and allies within your aura ignore lightly obscured conditions caused by fog, mist, or similar phenomena, and treat areas that would normally be heavily obscured by such effects as lightly obscured instead.
At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.
Reaper's Ward
At 15th level, you have grown resistant to the darker aspects of autumn. You gain resistance to necrotic damage, and your hit point maximum cannot be reduced by any effect. In addition, you have advantage on all saving throws made to avoid or end necromancy spells.
Herald of Autumn
At 20th level, you can transform into an embodiment of autumn. As a bonus action, you can undergo a transformation for up to 1 minute, or until you are incapacitated. For the duration, you gain the following benefits:
- You are considered immune to necrotic damage and cold damage.
- When a hostile creature starts its turn within your Aura of Looming Fog, it takes 1d10 necrotic damage.
- When a creature is reduced to 0 hit points within 30 feet of you, you gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your paladin level.
Once you've used this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can do so again.
