Base Class: Sorcerer
At some point in your life, your soul fractured into two fractions. Perhaps it fractured long before taking your body as a vessel at birth, or perhaps some life-altering event happened to you which shattered your soul. The two fractions work together in an arcane symbiosis, supporting each other as conduits for magic, though with this symbiosis, the two fractions may occasionally playfully wrestle for control of the vessel leading to two personalities sharing a mind and body.
Level 3: Soul Split
As a Bonus Action, you can split your other soul fraction from your body to act separate from you. The fraction appears as a blurry silhouette in an unoccupied space within 60ft of you, your fraction has AC 12 + your proficiency bonus, 1 hit point, and immunity to all conditions. If it has to make a saving throw, it uses your saving throw bonus for the roll. On your turn, you can mentally command the fraction to move up to your speed in any direction (no action required). If the fraction is more than 60ft away from you at the end of your turn, it is destroyed and you take 1d6 necrotic damage.
While your fraction exists, you can utilize it in the following ways:
- Whenever you cast a spell, you can cause the spell to originate from the fraction's space.
- If you are reduced you to 0 hit points, but not killed outright, you can sacrifice the fraction in your place and are reduced to 1 hit point instead. You can use this feature once per long rest.
- If the fraction is destroyed, you gain temporary hit points equal to 1d6 + your proficiency bonus.
Your fraction lasts for 1 minute, until it is destroyed, you dismiss the fraction as a free action or until you use this feature again.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Level 6: Spell Echo
The unique nature of your soul allows you to duplicate the casting of a spell through your other fraction.
Whenever you cast a spell that doesn't require concentration using a spell slot, you can expend a number of sorcery points equal to 1 + the expended spell slot level to cast the same spell twice from either your space or your fraction's space if it is split from you. The spell can target the same or different targets.
Level 14: Dual Focus
Your other soul fraction lets you temporarily hold focus on other spells while you're busy with other magic.
Whenever you cast a spell that requires concentration while already concentrating on another spell, you can expend any number of sorcery points to make that spell exist for an amount of turns equal to the sorcery points spent, ending on the start of your final turn and up to a maximum duration as stated by the spell description. The dual focused spell cannot be affected by any metamagic effects. If something causes you to have to roll for maintaining concentration, you roll for both spells with one roll.
In addition, whenever you break concentration on a spell through any means while not using the Dual Focus feature, the spell and its effects will persist until the start of your next turn.
Level 18: Mend Fracture
If only just for a moment, you can mend the fracture of your soul and create one instance of perfected magic.
Whenever you make a spell attack roll against a creature or an object, you can turn the attack roll into a 20. Or, if you subject a creature to a spell saving throw you can turn its roll(s) into a 1.
You can use this feature once per long rest. You can regain a use of this feature by expending 7 sorcery points as a Magic Action.
