Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

“The barbarians of this world are often viewed as thoughtless beasts with no ability to draw a bow. We beg to differ.”

-Valkyre Evergreen, Elven chief of the Ul’thar Warbow Barbarian tribe

The Barbarians who follow the Path of the War Bow are an unusual sign of an even more unusual collaboration between the Orcs of the plains and the Elves of the Feywild, when the two united against a common foe's armies whose name has been lost to the sands of time. The Barbarians reluctantly accepted the bow, and since then, it has become a staple of a small part of the Sword Coast Orcs. Even the modern version has not lost the flair and power of the original: demonic efficiency against seemingly insurmountable amounts of foes.

Level 3: Ranged Ferocity

At 3rd Level, you gain proficiency with the Longbow and ignore its Loading property. In addition, you can use your strength modifier instead of your dexterity modifier for its weapon attacks, and it deals 1d12 damage on a hit instead of the usual 1d10.

Also at 3rd Level, you channel so much power into the draw of your bow that you can send arrows straight through foes, devastating groups of enemies. During your Rage, your ranged attacks become piercing; when you hit an opponent, if there is another creature in a straight line 5 feet wide behind the target, it is in your original range, and the attack roll is high enough to hit that target as well, then the target also takes the attack damage. You can hit a total number of creatures with this up to a number equal to your proficiency bonus per attack, and only one of your attacks per turn can pierce foes.

Level 6: Staggering Ferocity

At 6th Level, you can shellshock foes when you bring them near to death. During your Rage, when you hit your opponent with a ranged weapon attack, if the attacks damage deals equal to or more than half of the targets maximum hit points, the target becomes Staggered; when it is next hit by a weapon attack, it must make a Constitution Saving Throw equal to 8 + your Strength Modifier + your Proficiency Bonus or take double damage from the attack. Whether the target fails or succeeds the save, the Staggered condition ends on that creature.

Level 10: Continuous Shots

At 10th Level, you can send arrows at your foes when they show a moment of weakness. When you Stagger a creature, you can make an extra attack. The extra attack does not use your Strength Modifier unless that modifier is negative. You can make a number of extra attacks per short rest equal to twice your Proficiency Bonus.

Level 14: Bouncing Shot

At 14th Level, you can target large groups of foes especially well, leveling armies with a single draw of your bow. While Raging, when you hit an opponent with a ranged weapon attack, you can choose to Bounce Shot the attack instead of Pierce Shot. If you do so, choose a number of additional targets equal to your Proficiency bonus, provided they are all within 30 feet of the original target, within the range of your weapon, and your attack roll for the original target is high enough to hit all of them. All of the targets take the weapons attack damage.
