Base Class: Bard
For many bards, the art of performance is the product of a higher calling. Whether it is to record the tales of mighty heroes, to sing the hymns of their god of favor, or to win fame and glory among their wealthy patrons, art is merely a means to an end. This is not so for bards of the College of Elation, performers with no goal but to entertain and inspire. Bards of this college congregate in rowdy taverns and fluid collectives, sharing techniques and laughs all the same.
For a bard of the College of Elation, there is nothing more important than making people smile. These bards devote countless hours to making art that lifts spirits, calms the restless, and brings joy to people's faces. They excel in casual spaces, often feeling bored and restricted within the constraints of high society. "Low art," that which speaks to the common people, is their calling, and they scoff at pretentious bards who dismiss these accessible performances. For all their simplicity, when a bard of this college performs, it's bound to be unforgettable.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you join the College of Elation at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Charisma (Performance) if you don't have it already, and your proficiency bonus is doubled when performing for a crowd of ten or more.
Encouragement
Also at 3rd level, you learn to cheer up and encourage people to pick themselves back up after an embarrassing mistake.
When a creature within 30 feet of you fails an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration as a reaction to give them advantage on their next attack roll, ability check, or saving throw respectively.
Life of the Party
At 6th level, you gain the ability to start a party wherever you go.
As an action, you can start a party. When a party starts, choose up to one + your charisma modifier (minimum of one) creatures who can hear you. Each target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC (plus your proficiency bonus if performing for a suitably large crowd) or become awestruck. While awestruck, targets will stand still and watch you attentively. Awestruck targets will obey simple commands, but only those that would be acceptable at a party (clap your hands, dance to the rhythm, repeat after me, etc.). While performing, you can take any action that would not require you to stop performing. If an awestruck target takes damage or is attacked by you, it instantly breaks out of its awestruck state. This effect lasts for one minute, or until you stop performing for any reason.
You can use this ability once per long rest.
Infectious Encouragement
At 14th level, you achieve mastery in the art of making others smile.
When you encourage a creature to give them advantage, and they succeed on their next roll, the joy of success will spread to another creature within 30 feet who can see them, granting them advantage on their next attempt at the same type of roll. If this creature succeeds on that roll, they can not spread the encouragement to another creature. The encouragement can not be spread to the bard who gave the encouragement in the first place.
