Base Class: Wizard
The Chirurgeon. A wizard who applies high intelligence to biological systems.
Not all healing comes from the gods. You are a student of the physical form—muscles, nerves, and humours. You use your magic to stitch flesh or sever it with surgical precision.
Level 3: Anatomical Studies
You have studied the body as extensively as you have the Weave.
-
You gain Proficiency in the Medicine skill. If you are already proficient, you gain Expertise.
-
You can use your Intelligence modifier instead of Wisdom for Medicine checks.
-
You add the Spare the Dying cantrip to your spellbook. It counts as a Wizard cantrip for you.
Level 3: Arcane Sutures
You can weave magic into healing energy.
-
You add Cure Wounds and Lesser Restoration to your spellbook. These count as Wizard spells for you.
-
Surgical Casting: When you cast a spell that restores hit points, you can use your Intelligence modifier for the spellcasting ability. Additionally, if the spell requires a touch, you can cast it through your familiar (if you have one) or with a range of 30 feet using spectral needles.
Level 6: Vivisection
Your knowledge of anatomy allows you to cripple foes. When you cast a Wizard spell of 1st level or higher that targets a single creature and deals damage, you can spend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to inflict a Debilitating Injury. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your Spell Save DC or suffer one of the following effects for 1 minute (save ends at end of turn):
-
Sever Tendon: The target's speed is halved, and they cannot take the Dash action.
-
Concuss: The target cannot take Reactions.
-
Bleed: The target takes 1d6 Necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns.
Level 10: Master Physic
Your healing becomes more potent.
-
When you cast a spell that restores Hit Points, the target regains additional Hit Points equal to your Wizard level.
-
You can cast Greater Restoration once without expending a spell slot. You regain this ability after a Long Rest.
Level 14: Life Transference
You can manipulate the vital energy of life itself.
-
You add the Regenerate spell to your spellbook.
-
As an Action, you can touch a creature that has died within the last minute. You can expend a spell slot of 5th level or higher to return it to life with 1 Hit Point (as per Revivify).
