Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who practice the Way of Plentiful Energy discipline themselves in manipulating their ki in its purest form. Often prodigies of martial arts and mystic studies, these Monks can learn these techniques after months or years of studying and training. After the completion of their training, their ki becomes an extension of their own body, and they unlock the ability to unleash their ki upon their foes to devastating effect.

Ki Blast

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can channel your ki into a blast of pure energy.

You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a range of 60 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is force, and its damage die is a d6. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.

When you take the Attack action on your turn and use this special attack as part of it, you can spend 1 Focus point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action.

When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack action.

Instant Teleportation

Starting at 6th level, you gain the ability to concentrate on a creature's energy and instantaneously teleport next to it. As a bonus action, you can focus on a creature you see and teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space next to it. If it is a hostile creature you have not attacked before, you gain advantage on the first melee attack you make against it before the end of your next turn. You can use this ability through solid objects if you are familiar with the target and know it is beyond the barrier. Magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood blocks the ability. This ability doesn't have to follow a straight line and can travel freely around corners or through openings.

Power Charge

Starting at 6th level, you gain the ability to power up to recharge your ki. As an action, you can focus your attention on recharging your ki, you regain ki equal to half your monk level rounded down. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Charged Energy Blast

Starting at 11th level, you gain the ability to charge your ki into a blast of energy. As an action, you can charge a beam of energy in your hands and fire it in a line 5 feet wide towards a point you can see within 120 feet.

Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + proficiency bonus + wisdom modifier) or take 2d6 force damage. You can increase the beam's damage by spending ki points. Each point you spend, to a maximum of 3, increases the damage by 2d6.

You can also spend 2 ki points to increase the width to a 5 foot radius.

Transformation

At 17th level, your mastery of ki reaches its zenith. You gain the ability to change your body into another form in order to tap into previously unreachable levels of power. Using your action, you can spend 8 ki points to undergo this transformation. For 10 minutes you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain a flying speed of 60 feet.
  • You have resistance to all damage except psychic damage.
  • You have advantage on Strength and Dexterity saving throws. In addition you gain advantage on Strength ability checks.
  • You emit bright light for 10 feet and dim light shines 10 feet beyond that.

This effect ends early if you are incapacitated or die. When the transformation ends, you suffer one level of exhaustion. Upon reaching 20th level, the duration increases to 1 hour.
