Base Class: Warlock
The sin of Pride is often depicted as a figure ruling over others with a coat of sparkling, metallic feathers. Or perhaps a lion comes to mind, hunting its prey head on and striking directly with crushing claws. Whatever Pride is, it takes great dignity in its role as an apex predator.
The Prideful is a very popular patron for warlocks seeking fame along with the power to keep it, offering immediate strength, freedom, and renown. Because of the amount of people dealing with The Prideful, these warlocks are often investigated and assassinated by Paladins as a result of their rapid popularity, forcing the foolish warlocks to forever praise The Prideful in it's eternal realm.
Level 3: Prideful Spells
The magic of your patron ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Warlock level specified in the Prideful Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Warlock Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Bless, Blur, Enhance Ability, Heroism |
| 5 | Beacon of Hope, Protection from Energy |
| 7 | Freedom of Movement, Stoneskin |
| 9 | Mass Cure Wounds, Rary's Telepathic Bond |
Level 3: Weave Superiority
The Prideful favors those who are simply better than their peers. When you finish a Long Rest, choose a Warlock spell you know that uses a spell slot and requires Concentration. Until your next Long Rest, you may cast this spell without needing to maintain Concentration on it. The spell still lasts for it's full duration or until dispelled.
Level 3: The Greatest
You can call upon your patron to act as flawlessly as The Prideful. When you cast a spell as an action that doesn't require Concentration and uses a Warlock spell slot, you may instantly cast the same spell an additional time for each spell effect you're benefiting from (ex: Bless, Blur, Beacon of Hope, Stoneskin, [/spells]Rary's Telepathic Bond[/spells], etc).
For each additional spell cast, the effects of one spell you're benefitting from are dispelled (you choose). Additional spells cast this way are cast as part of your initial Magic action and do not expend additional spell slots.
You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma Modifier, and regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Level 6: Monarch of Magic
When you use The Greatest to cast one or more additional spells, the next cantrip you cast of the same spell school as the additional spells can be cast as a Bonus Action.
Additionally, you may take a Magic to make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. Upon a success, you may expend one unsused charge of The Greatest to regain one expended Warlock spell slot. Upon a failed save, the same effect happens, but you regain your spell slot 10 minutes later rather then immediately.
Level 10: Crown of Ego
As a Bonus Action, you can manifest the supreme might of The Prideful for 1 minute. For the duration, a visible mark appears on you—such as a crystal crown surmounting your head, or you grow great golden horns—and you gain the benefits listed below. Once you use this Bonus Action, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest unless you expend a Pact Magic spell slot (no action required) to restore your use of it.
Lesser Than Me. Once on each of your turns when you damage a creature, the target takes an extra 1d8 magical Piercing damage.
Ruler of All. You radiate an aura of power in a 20-foot Emanation that originates from you. When you activate this feature, and at the start of each of your turns, you can choose a creature you can see in the aura. The target must succeed on a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or suffer one of the following effects of your choice until the start of your next turn:
Grovel. The target has the Prone condition and cannot recover from it until the end of the duration.
Cower. The target has Disadvantage on attack rolls made against you and saving throws caused by spells you cast.
Praise. The target drops whatever it is carrying and uses its action to applaud and cheer for you during its turn.
Level 14: Gods Among Man
You can now share The Prideful's power with those you deem worthy. When you deal damage while using your Crown of Ego feature, you may choose a creature within its range to bond with. You can bond with any number of creatures this way, and bonded creatures remain bonded if they leave your radius or your Crown of Ego ends. You can end the bond for any number of the creatures (no action required), and the bond ends when you die. The bond grants the following benefits.
Rule By Force. Choose one your Warlock spells and one bonded creature. The bonded creature can now use it's Action to cast it using your spell casting ability and save DC. This does not expend on of your Warlock spell slots. If the spell required Concentration, you lose your Concentration on your current spell and must focus on maintaining the new spell. You can use this benefit once, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a Short or Long Rest.
Loyal Servant. As a Bonus Action, choose one of the bonded creatures within your Crown of Ego's range. If you and the target are on the same plane of existence, you magically teleport to the nearest unoccupied space next to the creature.
Regal Talons. The magical Piering damage now applies to all bonded creatures within your Crown of Ego's range, and does an extra 1d10 damage rather than 1d8.
