Base Class: Warlock
Your pact draws on the the power of an Ancient Couatl, a winged serpent-like celestial. Virtuous, honest and ever-knowledgeable, Couatls can wander through the multiverse, usually in the Upper Planes but also in the Material Plane. Whilst often solitary, they don't shy away from interaction with adventurers, wanderers, and other folk who pique their curiosity, or require assistance.
Perhaps your bond originated from a shared intense hunger for knowledge in the multiverse. Perhaps your patron's inscrutable insight saw your destiny aligning with their own purpose. Or perhaps your pact was simply borne out of tragedy, necessity or chance.
Level 3: Celestial Healing
As a Bonus Action, you can heal yourself or one creature you can see within 15 feet of yourself, expending dice from the pool. The maximum number of dice you can expend at once equals your Charisma modifier (minimum of one die). Roll the dice you expend, and restore a number of Hit Points equal to the roll’s total. Your pool regains all expended dice when you finish a Long Rest. Immediately after expending the last of your dice in your pool, or expending 5 dice from your pool at once, you may use your Free Action to teleport 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see, like the spell Misty Step.
Level 3: Couatl Patron Spells
The magic of your patron ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Warlock level specified in the Couatl Patron Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Warlock Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Aid, Cure Wounds, Lesser Restoration, Feather Fall |
| 5 | Revivify, Shield, Shatter |
| 7 | Otiluke's Resilient Sphere, Storm Sphere |
| 9 | Greater Restoration, Dispel Evil and Good, Scrying, Dream |
Level 6: Radiant Conduit
You have Resistance to Radiant damage. Once per turn, if a spell you cast deals Radiant, Thunder or Lightning damage, you can add your Charisma modifier to that spell’s damage against each of the spell’s targets.
Level 10: Gifts of the Winged Serpents
- You gain Temporary Hit Points whenever you use your Magical Cunning feature or finish a Short or Long Rest. These Temporary Hit Points equal your Warlock level plus your Charisma modifier.
- You learn the spell Fly, which can be cast as a Bonus Action, does not consume a spell slot, and can be used once per Long rest.
- You gain Advantage in Arcana skill checks.
Level 14: Couatl's Vengeance
When you or an ally within 60 feet of you is about to make a Death Saving Throw, you can call forth the manifestation of a couatl's vengeance. The creature regains Hit Points equal to half its Hit Point maximum and can end the Prone condition on itself. Each creature of your choice that is within 30 feet of the target takes 3d6 Radiant damage, and is pushed up to 10 feet to an unoccupied space away from the target.
If the pushed creature(s) hit a wall or other solid object, they take the same damage again, as Bludgeoning damage.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest.
