Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Familiar with death, the executioner carries the will of law with them and delivers it upon their enemies. While most executioners work with legal systems full of courts and judges, a few take their techniques out into the world and claim their own jurisduction.

Bonus Proficiency

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Charisma (Intimidation) checks.

Executioner's Swing

At 3rd level, you can employ the technique of a headsman. Once a turn, when you roll damage for an attack you make with a melee weapon that has the heavy property, and you didn't have disadvantage on the attack roll, you can deal additional d6s of damage equal to your Proficiency modifier. You have two uses of this ability, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a short or long rest.

If you kill a creature with this attack, hostile creatures within 30 feet have disadvantage on their next attack roll before the start of your next turn.

Precision Cut

Beginning at 7th level, when you are about to make a melee attack with disadvantage, you can choose to prevent the roll from being affected by disadvantage. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Reap the Rewards

Starting at 10th level, the prevailing justice of your attacks renew you. When you damage a creature with your Executioner's Swing attack, you can use your reaction to gain temporary hit points equal to your fighter level.

Always Sharp

Starting at 15th level, your blade is prepared for every fight. If you roll initiative and have no uses of Executioner's Swing remaining, you regain one use of it.

Condemnation

When you see a hostile creature attack an ally with a melee attack within 30 feet, you can attempt to unnerve them. As a reaction, you can make a Charisma (Intimidation) check contested by the target's Charisma (Persuasion) check. If you succeed, the target is frightened of you until the end of their turn, giving them disadvantage on their attack, including the triggering attack. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Judgement

Those who grovel will meet a swift death. When you hit a prone creature with your Executioner's Swing attack, instead of rolling the Executioner's Swing die, they deal maximum damage.
