Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarians who walk the Path of the Inferno do not merely rage — they combust. Their fury ignites the air around them, turning battlefields into blazing arenas of destruction.
Level 3 – Infernal Awakening
You gain two features at 3rd level.
1. Scorching Rage (Rage Upgrade)
When you enter Rage, flames erupt around you.
While raging:
- You deal an additional 1d4 fire damage on each melee weapon attack.
- A creature that hits you with a melee attack takes fire damage equal to your Rage bonus.
- Your rage damage can be either normal Rage damage or fire damage (your choice each hit).
At 10th level, the bonus fire damage increases to 1d6.
2. Ember Magic (Spellcasting)
You gain limited spellcasting fueled by fury.
- You use Constitution as your spellcasting ability.
- You can cast these spells without material components.
- You can cast them a total number of times per long rest equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum 1).
- You regain all uses on a long rest.
Level 3 Spells:
- Burning Hands
- Hellish Rebuke
- Produce Flame (cantrip)
You can cast these spells while raging.
However:
- You still cannot concentrate on spells.
- Any spell that would require concentration instead lasts 1 round, no concentration required.
Barbarians normally lose spellcasting in Rage. You just light the rulebook on fire.
Level 6 – Blazing Stride
Your body becomes partially fire itself.
- You gain resistance to fire damage.
- While raging, your movement speed increases by 10 feet.
- When you move at least 15 feet in a straight line toward a creature and hit it, it must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + Proficiency + Con mod) or catch fire.
A burning creature:
- Takes 1d6 fire damage at the start of its turn
- Can use an action to extinguish the flames.
This lasts 1 minute or until extinguished.
Level 10 – Heart of the Wildfire
You are now a raging wildfire.
Your inferno refuses to die.
- You gain immunity to fire damage while raging.
- When you are reduced to 0 HP while raging, you can instead drop to 1 HP and erupt in a fiery explosion.
Creatures within 10 feet take:
3d6 fire damage (Dex save for half).
You can use this feature once per long rest
Level 14 – Avatar of the Inferno
Your rage becomes catastrophic.
When you enter Rage, you can choose to become an Avatar of the Inferno. For the duration of that Rage:
- Enemies that start their turn in the aura take fire damage equal to your Rage damage bonus.
- Your melee weapon attacks deal an additional 2d6 fire damage.
- You gain a 30 ft fly speed (made of roaring flame).
- If you reduce a creature to 0 HP, you can immediately move up to half your speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Additionally:
If you die while raging in this form, your body explodes in a 20-foot-radius inferno:
- 8d6 fire damage (Dex save for half)
- You are reduced to ash…
- But at the start of your next turn, you reform at 1 HP in an unoccupied space within the blast radius.
This resurrection effect can only happen once per long rest.
You are no longer angry.
You are natural disaster tier.
