Base Class: Warlock

Level 3: Soulbound Vessels

Soulbound Vessels

You always have the Find Familiar spell prepared. When you cast Find Familiar as part of finishing a Long Rest, it does not summon a normal familiar. Instead, it creates a number of Soulbound Vessels equal to your Proficiency Bonus.

Soulbound Casting

You cannot expend Warlock spell slots to cast spells. You can still:

  • Cast Warlock cantrips.
  • Use your Mystic Arcanum normally.
  • Use Eldritch Invocations that allow casting spells without spell slots.
  • Use Pact features that grant at-will casting.

Your spell slots are reserved to empower your Soulbound Vessels.

Soulbound Vessels

Each Soulbound Vessel is a Small Undead or Construct (your choice). They have the following statistics:

  • Armor Class: 10 + your Charisma modifier.
  • Hit Points: 5 × your Warlock level.
  • Speed: 25 feet.
  • Stats: Strength: 10, Dexterity: 10, Constitution: 10, Intelligence: 10, Wisdom: 10, Charisma: 10
  • Immunities: Poison damage and the Exhaustion condition.
  • Initiative: Shares your initiative count and acts immediately after you.
  • Attacks: Uses your Charisma modifier for attack rolls. Does not add your proficiency bonus.
  • Equipment: Can wear armor and shields and wield simple weapons appropriate to their Role. Can use magic items that do not require attunement but cannot attune to items.

Damage to a vessel persists until you finish a Long Rest. If a vessel is reduced to 0 hit points, it is destroyed and cannot return until your next Long Rest.

Command the Legion

As a Bonus Action, you command your Soulbound Vessels. Immediately after your turn, each vessel can move and take its Role action. If you do not command a vessel, it takes the Dodge action on its turn.

Soulbound Vessel Roles

Each vessel has a Role that defines its abilities and combat style. When commanded, a vessel takes its Role action on its turn.

Warrior

Uses melee weapons only. When attacking, deals weapon damage plus your Charisma modifier.

Archer

Uses ranged weapons only. When attacking, deals weapon damage plus your Charisma modifier.

Guardian

Can wear armor and a shield. Allies within 5 feet gain a bonus to their Armor Class equal to half your Charisma modifier (minimum +1).

Healer

Knows the Spare the Dying cantrip. As its action, it can heal a creature within 30 feet for hit points equal to your Warlock level. It can use this healing a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per Short Rest.

Mage

Can cast any damaging Warlock cantrip you know. Uses your Charisma modifier for spell attack rolls and does not add your proficiency bonus.

Level 3: Soul Expenditure

Soul Expenditure

When one or more of your Soulbound Vessels hit a creature, you can expend a Warlock spell slot to activate one of the following effects. You can use only one Soul Expenditure per turn.

Empowered Assault

Each hit from your vessels deals extra damage equal to 1d8 per level of the spell slot you expend.

Soul Shield

One vessel gains temporary hit points equal to 5 times the level of the spell slot you expend.

Command Transposition

You swap the positions of two creatures within 60 feet. The valid pairs are:

  • Two Soulbound Vessels
  • A Soulbound Vessel and yourself
  • A Soulbound Vessel and a willing ally

This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

Level 6: Advanced Soul Expenditure

Advanced Soul Expenditure

When you expend a Warlock spell slot, you can choose one of the following additional options instead of the standard Soul Expenditure effects.

Soul Surge

Until the start of your next turn, your vessels add your Charisma modifier again to their damage rolls.

Relentless Animation

When a vessel is reduced to 0 hit points, it instead drops to 1 hit point.

Coordinated Strike

Choose one creature hit this turn. All attacks made by your vessels against that creature have advantage until your next turn.

Forced March

All your vessels can immediately move up to their speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Shared Senses

Until your next turn, you can see and hear through all your vessels simultaneously.

Level 10: Distributed Will

Distributed Will

When you use Soul Expenditure, you can:

  • Apply two different Soul Expenditure options using the same spell slot.
  • Have one Soulbound Vessel immediately take its Role action.

Additionally, when you cast a Warlock cantrip, one vessel can take its Role action as part of the same action.

You and your Soulbound Vessels now act as one.

Level 14: Sovereign of the Stolen Host

Sovereign of the Stolen Host

As an action, you can activate this feature for up to 1 minute (concentration). While active:

  • Your vessels can move up to twice their movement speed.
  • Damage taken by your vessels can be redistributed among other vessels you control.
  • If a vessel is reduced to 0 hit points, it remains active until the end of your next turn before collapsing, unless it is healed before then.

This feature can be used once per Long Rest.
