Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Thunderclaw are living lightning. They move before thunder sounds, strike before shadows shift, and vanish in arcs of crackling ki. Their discipline channels storm energy through muscle and nerve, heightening reflexes to supernatural levels.

This subclass focuses on:

  • Extreme speed

  • High single-target burst damage

  • Precision over AoE

  • Hit-and-fade dominance

Level 3: Level 3 – Stormbody Initiate

⚡ Feline Agility

Your speed increases by 10 feet.

When you use Step of the Wind, you do not need to spend ki. You can use it a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest without spending ki.

Additionally, while unarmored and not wearing a shield:

  • You can move across liquid surfaces and vertical surfaces during your turn without falling, provided you end your turn on solid ground.


⚡ Lightning Claws

When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can choose to deal lightning damage instead of bludgeoning.

Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can deal extra lightning damage equal to your Martial Arts die.

If the target has not taken damage from you this turn, this extra damage is doubled.

This encourages diving onto a priority target and exploding them.

Level 6: Level 6 – Flashstep Predator

You move like a thunderclap.

⚡ Flashstep

When you take the Attack action, you may teleport up to 20 feet to an unoccupied space you can see before or after one of your attacks.

You can use this a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier per long rest.

If you teleport adjacent to a creature and hit it with an unarmed strike on the same turn, the creature must make a Constitution saving throw (Ki save DC). On a failure:

  • It cannot take reactions until the start of your next turn.

  • Its speed is reduced to 0 until the end of its current turn.


⚡ Crackling Focus

When you hit the same creature with two or more attacks in a turn, it takes bonus lightning damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.

This pushes heavy single-target focus.

Level 11: Level 11 – Stormheart Surge

You enter a state of heightened electrical acceleration.

As a bonus action, you may spend 3 ki to enter Stormheart Surge for 1 minute:

  • Your movement speed doubles.

  • You gain advantage on Dexterity saving throws.

  • Once per turn, when you hit a creature, you may deal extra lightning damage equal to two Martial Arts dice.

  • If a creature is stunned or has its speed reduced to 0, your unarmed strikes against it deal additional lightning damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.

You may end this state early (no action required).

This is your boss-killer mode.

Level 17: Level 17 – Thunder God’s Execution

You become the embodiment of predatory lightning.

When you hit a creature with three or more attacks in a turn, you may force it to make a Constitution saving throw.

On a failure:

  • The creature takes 6 Martial Arts dice lightning damage.

  • It is stunned until the end of your next turn.

On a success:

  • It takes half the lightning damage.

  • It is not stunned.

You can use this feature once per long rest, or again by spending 6 ki.

Additionally:

  • You gain immunity to lightning damage.

  • You ignore resistance to lightning damage.
