Base Class: Monk
Monks of The Way of the Aeon choose to study a great monk named Aeon, a human monk who had lived for over a century. He had created and mastered a magical weapon imbued with great power. Dubbed 'Aeon's Thirst', the weapon is a kunai with an extendable chain attached to it. Aeon was able to combine four elements to further strengthen the weapon and have the weapon enchanted to impose effects of all kinds to both allies and foes. When Aeon passed away the weapon was lost through time.
Only when a monk proves his worthiness to Aeon will a duplicate of the ancient weapon spawn unto the world into the hands of the user. The original weapon has never been found since the passing of the great monk. When a duplicate of the weapon is created it is accursed to whoever summoned it and it is bound to the user until death. The weapon may break, the kunai may grow blunt, the chain may snap but the gauntlet housing the weapon attached to the user may not be removed or broken. Become accursed with a weapon of greater power and learn how to control its powers, protect allies and impose elemental effects unto your enemies should you choose to do so when you follow this tradition.
Aeon's Thirst
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you are given the magical weapon 'Aeon’s Thirst'. You are proficient with this weapon as it counts as a monk weapon and the weapon is chained to a gauntlet worn on your dominant hand. The gauntlet cannot be removed by any means and is bound to the user until death.

Monk weapon, light, magical, thrown (range 20), reach |
- This weapon has disadvantage on a ranged attack roll at 5 ft.
- The dagger is concealed within a gauntlet and can be activated on demand, the user can choose to make a melee attack with the kunai or make a ranged attack by flicking their wrist out and the kunai will be thrown out towards that direction. The kunai is automatically retrieved after an attack.
- If the weapon is broken, you can spend an hour of downtime to pray to Aeon to recover it.
- At 6th level the weapon becomes magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance and immunity to non-magical attacks and damage.
Divine Technique
By harnessing your own ki, you can further control the weapon after you’ve thrown it . Whenever you hit a creature with a ranged attack from Aeon’s Thirst, you can spend 1 ki point to impose one of the following effects on that target:
- It must succeed on a strength saving throw or be pulled up to 15 ft. towards you as you retract your kunai.
- It must make a dexterity saving throw. If it fails, you whip the chain connecting the kunai and the target is knocked prone.
- It must make a dexterity saving throw or take 1d4 slashing damage as you thrash the kunai out of the target.
- You can spend 1 ki point per 5 ft. to increase the range on your reach for opportunity attacks with the kunai (up to 2 ki points for 20 ft. total reach).
Elemental Kunai
At 6th level you gain the ability to channel an elemental effect to your weapon and the gauntlet housing the weapon becomes an attuned item. During a long rest you can choose to spend 1 hour to meditate and channel one particular element chosen from the table below into your weapon. After you're out of your meditative state, you can spend 2 ki points to gain the ability to add that elemental effect on top of the damage already made by the kunai. During your next long rest, you may choose to retain that same elemental effect on your weapon or you may meditate and swap it for another. The damage later increases at 11th level and 17th level as listed in the table below:

Kunai Mastery
At 11th level you are able to adopt a defensive fighting style using the weapon. When you are hit by a melee weapon attack, you can spend 2 ki points as a reaction to parry the attack. When you do so, the damage you take from the attack is reduced by 1d6 + your dexterity modifier + your monk level.
Safeguard of Aeon
At 17th level, you gain the ability to channel a protective aura for you and your allies with the aid of the great monk Aeon himself. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point per 5 ft. radius (up to 20 ft.) to impose disadvantage on any enemies within the declared radius until the beginning of your next turn. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (min of 1) per long rest.
