Base Class: Fighter
Not all warriors who touch the void are consumed by it. Some endure—changed, hollowed, and forever marked. The void’s presence lingers within you, muting fear and dulling pain while whispering of strength beyond mortal limits. Whether you sought this power or survived it by chance, it now answers when you call. Broken Knights learn to silence the body’s protests and push beyond the boundaries of flesh. In battle, you strike with relentless force and withstand wounds that would fell other warriors. The void within you suppresses pain and hesitation, allowing you to fight on when others would collapse. Yet such endurance carries a cost. The void does not prevent suffering; it merely delays it. When the battle ends, the weight of your injuries returns, and you are reminded that the strength you wield is not your own. It waits within you—silent, patient, and vast.
Voided Damage Pool
When you take damage, you can use your reaction to store that damage in your Voided Damage Pool instead of taking it immediately.
You can store a total amount of damage equal to your max hit points.
When damage is stored in your Voided Damage Pool:
- Your body bears the marks of injury—blood, bruising, broken armor—but you feel none of it. You can continue to act as if unharmed, even though observers can clearly see the toll the damage has taken.
- You cannot use any features that require you to feel or react to damage (such as abilities that trigger when you take damage) while that damage is stored. The stored damage remains until the end of combat. After combat ends, all damage remaining in your Voided Damage Pool is applied to you at once. This damage ignores resistance and immunity.
When this damage is applied, you must make a Constitution saving throw. The DC equals the amount of damage in your Voided Damage pool. On a success, you take only half of the stored damage. On a failure, you take the full amount.
Once you use your reaction to store damage in your Voided Damage Pool, you can’t do so again until the start of your next turn.
Proficiency Bonus
When you adopt the Broken Knight archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in two of the following skills of your choice: Intimidation, Deception, Survival, Athletics, Acrobatics, or Animal Handling. Alternatively, you gain proficiency in Strength saving throws instead of gaining these skill proficiencies.
Ripping Resolve
When you make an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check you can choose to add your Constitution modifier + Proficiency to the roll. You must decide to use this feature before rolling. When you do, you take 1d10 damage. You can choose to apply this damage directly to your Voided Pool as a free action instead of to your hit points.
Willing Body
As a bonus action, you can choose one creature you can see and is within half your movement, until the end of your next turn you are prepared to take a hit for that creature. If the chosen creature is hit by a physical attack, you can use your reaction to intercept the damage. When you do:
- You move to a position between the attack and the creature (or as close as possible).
- You take half of the damage directly into your Voided Damage Pool.
- If you cannot store the damage in your Voided Pool, you take the full damage instead.
- The creature was being attacked takes no damage from the attack
Ignorance To Death
Starting at 18th level, death is a forgot concept instead all that is left is desire to go as far as possible. Whenever you are reduced to 0 hit points you can choose to “Ignore Death” For one minute you gain the following effects
- movement speed is dubbed
- +5 to hit and damage
- Your Voided Damage Pool is reset
- All damage is instantly put in voided damage pool as haft damage
- you cannot speak or understand any language written, verbal or other
- You must make an attempt at a attack each turn
- Your vision in limited to twice your movement
This ability ends if one of these situations happens:
- your Voided Damage Pool is completely filled
- the combat ends
- one minute passes
After the affected ends you are returned to 0 hit points with one fail on your death saving throws and a point of exhaustion
