Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Deep within the lightless trenches of the Seventh Layer of the spirit realm, the primordial king Ashlesh sits enthroned in an eternal, airless euphoria. Unlike typical fiends who hunger for souls to fuel engines of war or political schemes, the Lord of Joy seeks a far more terrifying commodity: the world’s suffering. Ashlesh views grief, sorrow, and even the smallest pang of regret as "bitter ingredients" that must be harvested and refined into a manic, neon-pink ecstasy. To be a Warlock of Ashlesh is to become a conduit for this overwhelming sweetness, replacing the natural spectrum of emotion with a singular, hollow, and all-consuming sugar high.

For you, the pact was struck in the smoldering ruins of a life-defining tragedy. In the wake of the bakery fire that claimed their friend and their purpose, Ashlesh reached through the smoke, offering to "sweeten" their bitter reality. The bargain was simple: their grief was traded for a single, perfect, world-altering cake and a connection to the Lord of Joy that would ensure she never felt the cold sting of sorrow again. Now, their very soul is a glowing furnace of Soul-Sugar, and her magic manifests as crackling, neon-pink energy that smells of burnt sugar and ozone.

The "joy" Ashlesh provides is not a gentle comfort; it is a pressurized, sensory fever dream. As his warlock, you don't just cast spells; they hurl fragments of a celestial dimension where the rufffles of a piping bag meet the jagged edges of arcane glass. Their enemies do not simply fall; they are "harvested," their fading life force refined by the pact into shimmering sprinkles that grant you a manic second wind. Beneath their lilac fur and wide-eyed whimsy lies the crushing weight of a primordial king who demands that the world smile—even if it has to be stitched into place with glowing, magical icing.

The Soul-Sugar Harvest

You inhale the "sweetness" of their expiring life force, which manifests as a shimmering coat of Neon-Pink Sprinkles that act as a protective, sugary barrier.

When you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier + your warlock level (minimum of 1).

Beginner's Bake-Luck

You can call on your patron to alter fate in your favor. When you make an ability check or a saving throw, you can use this feature to add a d10 to your roll. You can do so after seeing the initial roll but before any of the roll’s effects occur. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Cured Confectioner

Starting at 10th level, you can choose one damage type when you finish a short or long rest. You gain resistance to that damage type until you choose a different one with this feature. Damage from magical weapons or silver weapons ignores this resistance.

Your body adapts to the kitchen's hazards. You might choose Fire resistance (Acclimatized to the Ovens) or Bludgeoning resistance (Doughy Elasticity).

Descent into the Joyless Deep

When you hit a creature with an attack, the target is swallowed by a rift of neon-pink liquid joy, only to be spat back out a second later, screaming from sensory overload. You can use this feature to instantly transport the target through the Seventh Layer of the spirit realm. The creature disappears and hurtles through a landscape of overwhelming, crushing euphoria and multi-limbed shadows.

At the end of your next turn, the target returns to the space it previously occupied, or the nearest unoccupied space. If the target is not a fiend, it takes 10d10 psychic damage as it reels from its horrific "vacation" in Ashlesh's prison.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
