Monk
Base Class: Monk

Dark eyes, gray skinned, and hairless whispers and screams fill your mind as your previous memories and past lives haunt you. Born out of something not from this earth, you have powers not even you understand. Carving through in horrific ways, you make your way to find meaning in this life or revenge of the Great Old One who cursed you.

Eye/skin color choices (one for each): all white, light gray, gray, dark gray, black

Quick build stat priority: DEX > WIS > CON > STR=INT=CHA

Unnatural Blades

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, when you attack your arms from the elbows down, turn into hardened blades that you use to carve your foes. Your unarmed attacks are increased by one dice more than the monk table. (i.e. d6 to a d8)

Eldritch Slash

At 3rd level, when you channel ki into your attacks you augment your Unnatural Blades to inflict devastating strikes. Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows and that attack inflicts damage, you can impose one of the following effects on the target:

Life Drain. You gain hit points equal to half the damage your attack deals.

Invoke Shadow. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become blind until the start of your next turn.

Invoke Wrath. The target must succeed a Wisdom saving throw or suffers disadvantage on all attack rolls against targets other than you until the end of your next turn.

Dark Step. You teleport the target (Constitution saving throw) or yourself up to 10 feet to a destination you can see.

Weakening Strikes. The next attack on the target has advantage.

Terrifying Howl

At 6th level, because your soul has been touched by the Eldritch, you gain the ability to unsettle or terrify those around you as an action. When you take this action, each creature within 30 feet of you that can hear or see you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn.

Touch of Mortality

Starting when you choose this tradition at 11th level, your Eldritch soul allows you to extract vitality from another creature as it nears its demise. When you reduce a creature within 5 feet of you to 0 hit points, you gain temporary hit points equal to your monk level. This effect does not stack from multiple enemies. However, another killing blow can refresh the total of your temporary hit points.

Unearthed Form

At 17th level, you can transform your physical body using the dark energy that is imbued within your soul. As a bonus action, you assume an Unearthed form, which grants the following benefits:

  • You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage, but vulnerability to radiant damage.
  • You have a fly speed equal to your walking speed.
  • Gain two extra attacks when you take the attack action. This is granted to you by two shadowy tendrils coming off of you back and over your shoulders.
  • You can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. You take 5 force damage if you end your turn inside an object.

This benefit lasts for 1 minute. You cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.
