Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

"Hedge Witch" is a derisive term used by formally educated Wizards to describe arcane practitioners that learned their craft outside of established magic curriculums. They would have you believe that Hedge Witches are dangerous, unreliable, and reckless. They may even be right, but what Hedge Witches lack in specialized training they often make up for with curiosity, as their ravenous consumption of arcane lore is not limited to a particular school or even to the exclusive study of wizardry.

Level 3: Diverse Curriculum

Choose one level 1+ spell from the Bard spell list and another from the Druid spell list and add them both to your spellbook. Neither spell may be higher than level 2.

Whenever you gain a Wizard level after this, you may add one Wizard spell and one Bard or Druid spell to your spellbook, instead of learning two Wizard spells. The chosen spells must still be of a level for which you have spell slots. You can prepare and cast Bard and Druid spells from your spellbook just like Wizard spells, and they count as Wizard spells for you.

Level 3: Insatiable Curiosity

When you find a level 1+ Bard or Druid spell, you can copy it into your spellbook if it’s of a level you can prepare and if you have time to copy it. For each level of the spell, the transcription takes 3 hours and costs 50 GP. Afterward, you can prepare the spell like any other spell in your spellbook, and it counts as a Wizard spell for you.

For every instance of Magic Initiate that you have, increase your Intelligence score by 1, to a maximum of 20.

Level 6: Practiced Efficiency

Your deep appreciation of magical laws allows you to preserve arcane energies that less humble Wizards would let go to waste. When you cast a spell using a level 2+ spell slot, you may regain one expended level 1 spell slot.

Level 10: Expanded Horizons

You can prepare two additional Wizard spells.

Level 14: Arcane Kitbash

You may take a Bonus Action and expend two spell slots to recover one spell slot of a higher level. The recovered spell slot's level is equal to the sacrificed spell slots' combined levels; sacrificing a level 3 and a level 4 spell slot, for example, would restore a single level 7 spell slot.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a Long Rest.
