Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Some warriors choose the path of direct action, lives reaped from the edge of the blades, and are capable of both immense strength and unmatched skill. Others, however, choose a path lined in soldiers marching in order and plans writ in blood.

History has been built from the wisdom of these great minds, and its future is sure to be the same. To take command over the workings of war is a heavy burden, and inspires even heavier legacies.

Level 3: Survey

Survey:

3rd-level Commander feature

When you roll initiative for combat, you may use your passive perception score as your initiative instead, which can be decided before or after you roll.

Level 3: Tactical Leadership

Tactical Leadership:

3rd-level Commander feature

If you're acting on an initiative count equal to or above your passive perception, you may survey the battlefield and your allies at the beginning of your first turn in combat. Choose a number of other creatures you can see within 30 feet of you, up to a number of creatures equal to your Wisdom modifier. Each of the chosen creatures gains a number of temporary hit points equal to half your Fighter level, rounded up, and attacks made with advantage gained from the suprised or restrained condition against them aren't affected by advantage for 1 minute or until you're incapacitated.

While this feature is active, you gain the following abilities.

-Battle Orders: You can make the Help action as a bonus action, so long as you are choosing the 'assist an attack roll' option for it. When you do so, instead of targeting an enemy, choose a creature with temporary hit points granted by your Tactical Leadership feature that is within 30 feet of you, which gains advantage on the next attack it makes before the end of your next turn.

- Marching Orders: Once per turn, you may spend an amount of movement speed up to five times your Fighter level and choose a creature you can see within 30 feet of you that has temporary hit points gained by your Tactical Leadership feature. That creature can immediately use its reaction to move up to half the move speed spent from this ability without provoking opportunity attacks. If you take the Dash action before using this ability you may spend movement speed up to ten times your Fighter level.

- Defensive Orders: Whenever a recipient of the temporary hit points granted by your Tactical Leadership feature is targeted by an attack, you may use your reaction to expend a hit die and reduce the result of the attack roll by an amount equal to the hit die plus the number of temporary hit points they still possess. The target of the attack must be a creature you can see within 30 feet, and when you take this reaction you may move to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of them without provoking opportunity attacks.

You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency bonus, and regain all uses when you finish a long rest.

Level 3: Rousing Command

Rousing Command:

3rd-level Commander feature

When you take the attack action on your turn, you may replace any number of attacks with commanding shouts that can be heard up to 30 feet. Whenever you voice one of these commands, choose a number of other creatures within range that can hear you up to a number equal to the total attacks replaced. Those creatures can immediately use their reactions to make a single attack, which are each only able to have one target and cannot use a 3rd-level spell slot or higher, unless a War Caster feat or another feature allows a creature to use spells of higher level as a reaction.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, and regain all uses when you finish a short or long rest.

Level 7: Decisive Decision-Making

Decisive Decision-Making:

7th-level Commander feature

You gain an additional reaction whenever you use your Action Surge ability to gain an additional action, which goes away if not used by your next turn.

At the beginning of your next turn, if you've not used the second reaction, you may expend it to make a single attack against a creature you can see or to regain a single hit die.

Level 10: Advanced Tactics

Advanced Tactics:

10th-level Commander feature

As an action on your turn, you can expend a number of hit dice and choose a number of creatures equal to your Wisdom modifier within 60 feet of you. When you do, the chosen creatures gain temporary hit points equal to the totals of the spent hit die plus half your Fighter level.

Your Tactical Leadership feature must have been used at the beginning of combat in order to use this feature. The temporary hit points gained by this feature can go to different targets from your Tactical Leadership choices, and count as temporary hit points gained by the Tactical Leadership feature for the abilities granted by it. When you use this feature, any creature with temporary hit points remaining from your Tactical Leadership feature that wasn't targeted by this one loses those temporary hit points.

Level 10: Improved Orders

Improved Orders:

10th-level Commander feature

The following abilities granted by your Tactical Leadership feature have improved, expanding to a reach of 60 feet and gaining the following effects.

- Battle Orders: When you grant a creature the Help action with this ability, it may immediately use its reaction to take an attack against an enemy within 5 of them.

- Marching Orders: Treat your movement speed as 10 higher when spending it for this ability, and you can choose up to two creatures when you use it.

- Defensive Orders: The target of the triggering attack gains a bonus to their AC equal to the result of the attack roll reduction until the end of their next turn.

Resolved and Resolute

Resolved and Resolute:

15th-level Commander feature

You make saving throws that you don't have proficiency in with advantage.

Whenever a creature within 30 feet of you makes a saving throw in combat that they aren't proficient in, you can use a reaction to give that creature advantage. If the saving throw fails, you may expend a usage of your Indomitable feature to allow that creature to reroll it and add your Fighter level to the result.

Level 18: Voice of Steel

Voice of Steel:

18th-level Commander feature

When a creature makes an attack from your Rousing Command feature, it makes that attack with advantage.

When you roll initiative, if you have no uses of Rousing Command left, you regain 1.
