Bard
Base Class: Bard

A subset of teachings from the College of Lore, bards who train under the College of Poetry are able to hone their abilities mainly on the placement, sound, rhythm and rhyme of their words. They're able to prepare inspiration for their allies ahead of time. They're able to wrestle with the emotional depths of their audience, despite any language barriers. They can channel their magical abilities through words, alone. At the top of their skill levels, their experiences with pain once converted to words heals and inspires their allies.

Written Inspiration

When you join the College of Lore at 3rd level, you begin to delve into written poetry. As a bonus action, you may expend a bardic inspiration to write a poem on paper and give it to an ally within 5 feet of you. An ally may only have one written poem in their possession and written poems lose their magical inspiration after the bard who gave it to them takes short rest.

As a bonus action, an ally with a written poem can read the poem to gain a bardic inspiration die corresponding inspiration die of that bard. If the ally already posses an inspiration die from that bard, the written poem is lost and no bardic inspiration die is gained.

Rhetorical Knowledge

Also at 3rd level, you may learn up to three languages of your choice. You can speak, read and write these languages. Additionally, all creatures who speak a language can understand your poetry, whether written or spoken.

Spoken Word

At 6th level, your poetry takes a new shape in the form of spoken. Casting spells only require a spell's verbal component. If a spell does not require verbal components, the spell must be cast with a verbal component or with it's original components.

Living Poetry

Starting at 14th level, when you take damage from an enemy, you may use your reaction to make a constitution saving throw where the DC is half the amount of damage taken, minimum 10. If you are successful, you may add one bardic inspiration die to your pool. You may do this a number of times equal to your charisma modifier until your next long rest.

Additionally, your bardic inspiration now heals those who it inspires. When an ally rolls an inspiration die to add to a roll, they regain that many hit points. If they at their maximum hit points, they do not exceed this amount.
