Base Class: Bard
Bards of the College of the Celestarium study the subtle structures that govern chance, consequence, and destiny. Through tarot decks, runic stones, bone dice, or other symbolic instruments, these bards learn not to predict the future outright, but to recognize moments when fate is most malleable—and to act decisively when those moments arise.
A Celestarium bard does not seek constant advantage. Instead, they hold a small number of fleeting insights and choose carefully when to reveal them. Their power lies not in repetition, but in commitment.
PLAYING A CELESTATIUM BARD
The College of the Celestarium rewards foresight and timing. Rather than using Bardic Inspiration reactively, you maintain a small hand of Omens and decide when fate should bend. You are strongest when you commit to pivotal moments, not when you spread your influence thin.
Celestarium Omens are designed to create singular turning points, not persistent advantages.
Fate Touched
3rd-level College of the Celestarium feature
Fate leans you toward the most fortuitous outcomes. When you make a Charisma (Persuasion) or Charisma (Deception) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.
Celestarium Omens
3rd-level College of the Celestarium feature
At 3rd level, you employ tools through which you read the threads of fate. You can use the following objects as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells: a tarot deck, runic lots, bone dice, or a similar medium. From this focus, you draw fleeting insights called Celestarium Omens. These Omens allow you to manipulate the tides of fate to aid you and your party or to punish your enemies.
Consult the Omens
When you finish a Long Rest, draw three Omens at random from the Celestarium Omen table and hold them as your hand. You can hold no more than three Omens at a time.
Invoke Omens
You can invoke an Omen you are holding when its triggering condition occurs. Unless stated otherwise, invoking an Omen expends one use of your Bardic Inspiration.
When you invoke an Omen, it is discarded, unless a feature allows you to return it to your hand. You may invoke only one Omen per turn.
Redrawing Your Hand
At any time, you can use a Bonus Action and expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to discard any number of Omens in your hand and redraw until you hold three Omens, drawing each Omen at random from the Celestarium Omen table.
You can’t exceed your maximum hand size of three Omens when doing so.
| Celestarium Omen Table | ||||
| Level | Die | Omen Name | Omen Description | Effect |
| 3 | 1 | Echo | The pattern repeats. | You can expend a use of Bardic Inspiration as of part of casting a Bard spell that targets only one creature. You can choose a second creature within 20 feet of the original target. The spell affects both creatures. |
| 3 | 2 | Pressure | Certainty collapses. | When a creature you can see within 60 feet makes an attack roll or ability check, you can use your Reaction to expend a use of Bardic Inspiration and subtract your Bardic Inspiration die from the triggering roll. |
| 3 | 3 | Revelation | The truth weighs heavy. | As a Bonus Action, you can expend a use of Bardic Inspiration to choose one creature you can see within 60 feet. That creature subtracts your Bardic Inspiration die from the next saving throw it makes before the start of your next turn. |
| 3 | 4 | Vitality | Fate favors the bold. | When a creature regains Hit Points from a Bard spell you cast, you can expend a use of Bardic Inspiration as part of the casting and add the roll to your healing amount. |
| 3 | 5 | Aftershock | The impact ripples outward. | When a creature takes damage from a single target Bard spell you cast, you can expend a use of Bardic Inspiration as part of the casting. Each creature within 10 feet of the target takes damage of the same damage type equal to your Bardic Inspiration die. This damage increases to two rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die at level 11. |
| 3 | 6 | Clarity | The thread holds. | When you make a Constitution saving throw to maintain Concentration on a Bard spell, you expend a Bardic Inspiration die to add to the D20 test. |
| 6 | 7 | Foretelling | You glipse what lies just ahead. | When you make an Intelligence (Investigation), Wisdom (Perception), or Wisdom (Insight) check, you expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration to add to the D20 test. |
| 6 | 8 | Presence | Your aura shifts the tone of the exchange. | When you make a Charisma (Deception, Persuasion, Performance, or Intimidation) check, you expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration to add to the D20 test. |
| 14 | 9 | Ascendancy | For a moment, fate listens. | When you make an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration. Treat the Bardic Inspiration die as though it rolled its maximum value, and add it to the D20 test. |
| 14 | 10 | Interregnum | Fate hesitates. | When a creature succeeds on a saving throw against a non-damaging effect of a Bard spell you cast, you expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration to treat the result as a failure until the start of the creature’s next turn. Afterwards, the spell then ends immediately. This Omen has no effect on a creature that uses a Legendary Resistance. |
| 14 | 11 | Transposition | What was meant for one thread finds another. |
When a creature you can see within 60 feet of you would be affected by a spell, you can use your Reaction to invoke this Omen and expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration. Roll your Bardic Inspiration die. On a roll of 6 or higher, you redirect the spell’s effects to another valid target of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you. The new target must be a creature the spell could normally affect. If the roll fails, the spell affects the original target as intended. |
| 14 | 12 | Providence | Fate accepts a different price. | When you cast a Bard spell that has a material component with a gold cost, you can ignore that cost, even if the component would normally be consumed. This Omen is immediately discarded and can’t be returned to your hand until your next Long Rest. |

Level 6: Second Sight
6th-level College of the Celestarium feature
At 6th level, your understanding of fate deepens, allowing you to guide your readings with intent rather than leaving them entirely to chance.
When you finish a Long Rest, you may now choose one Celestarium Omen instead of drawing it at random. Any remaining Omens in your hand are drawn randomly as normal.
The chosen Omen must be one available on the Celestarium Omen table for your level.
Level 14: Weave Mastery
14th-level College of Eloquence feature
Your mastery of the Celestarium allows you not only to read fate, but to decide which signs endure and which are rewritten.
When you invoke a Celestarium Omen, you may choose to return it to your hand instead of discarding it. An Omen returned this way can’t be invoked again until the end of your next turn.
You can still hold no more than three Omens at a time.
