Bard
Base Class: Bard

Harbingers, colloquially known as doomsayers or banshees, are a college of bards who learn fell dirges that presage the arrival of death’s embrace, moving the skeins of fate to their will. Often associated with temples of deities connected to death and fate, doomsayers move through battlefields offering succor to fallen friends and pronouncing doom on their enemies. Most bards of this college have a distrust and dislike for creatures that attempt to cheat their rightful fate via the expediency of undeath and will seek to destroy the undead at every opportunity.

Harbinger of Death

3rd-level College of the Harbinger feature
You learn the Toll the Dead and Spare the Dying cantrips. These cantrips do not count against the number of bard cantrips you know. You gain the following advantages when casting these cantrips:
• A creature that fails its saving throw to resist your toll the dead cantrip loses any resistance or immunity to necrotic damage until the end of your next turn.
• Your spare the dying cantrip has a range of 60 feet and attack rolls against a creature stabilized by this spell suffer disadvantage until the end of your next turn.

Pronouncement of Doom

3rd-level College of the Harbinger feature
You can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration as a bonus action to utter a pronouncement of doom on one hostile creature within 60 feet that can hear you. For the next 10 minutes the creature suffers disadvantage on death saving throws, and the first time it suffers damage during while so afflicted, it suffers additional damage equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die.

At the end of its next turn after the creature suffers this damage, roll the Bardic Inspiration die again, the creature suffers necrotic damage equal to the result. The necrotic damage increases as you gain levels in this class, to two rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die at 11th level, and to three rolls at 17th level.

A Remove Curse spell or similar magic can remove the effects of this feature.

Banshee’s Song

6th-level College of the Harbinger feature
You begin a keening song that inspires your allies before rising to a crescendo that foretells the death of your enemies. You can expend a spell slot when you start a Countercharm performance. If a hostile creature that can hear you ends its turn within range of the performance, it suffers 1d8 necrotic damage per level of the spell slot expended and must make a Wisdom saving throw or become Frightened of you until the end of your next turn.

Chooser of the Slain

14th-level College of the Harbinger feature
You gain the ability to twist the skein of fate in the final frozen moment before death. When a creature under your Pronouncement of Doom is reduced to 0 hit points, you can choose one of the following:
• You regain a Bardic Inspiration die, the Pronouncement of Doom ends, and you leave the creature to its natural fate.
• The creature becomes unconscious but stable at 0 hit points, it knows you spared it from its doom, and is affected by a Geas spell when it recovers.
• The creature is irrevocably slain, it can be restored to life only by means of a True Resurrection or a Wish spell.
