Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Shadow Inquisitors blend espionage, perception and shadow magic. By manifesting shadow duplicates of themselves they can spy across buildings, decieve enemies, and strike from impossible positions.

Level 3: Shadow Double

You can use a bonus action to magically manifest a shadow double of yourself in an unoccupied space you can see within 15 feet of you. This shadow double is a magical shadowy image of you that lasts until it is destroyed, until you dismiss it as an action, until you manifest another shadow double, or until you're incapacitated.

Your shadow double has AC 14+ your proficiency bonus, 1 hit point, and immunity to all conditions. If it has to make a saving throw, it uses your saving throw bonus for the roll. It is the same size as you, and it occupies its space. If your shadow double is ever more than 30 feet from you at the end of your turn, it is destroyed.

  • When you take the Attack action on your turn, any attack you make with that action can originate from your space or the shadow double's space. You make this choice for each attack. (The shadow double can apply sneak attack if the conditions are met.)
  • As a bonus action, you can teleport, magically swapping places with your echo at a cost of 15 feet of your movement, regardless of the distance between the two of you. You may do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
  • As an action you can percieve through the double's senses for the next minute.
    • While doing so you are blind and deaf to your own surroundings.
    • While in this state your double can move up to 500 ft away from you without being destroyed.

Level 9: Lethal Shadow

Your double may now be created within 30ft. You may now percieve through your double at a range of 2000 ft.

On your turn, you can mentally command the shadow double to move up to 30 feet in any direction (no action required).

Once per turn when you deal Sneak Attack damage through the double, you may deal extra necrotic damage. The extra damage is equal to half the number of Sneak Attack dice for your level rounded up.

Level 13: Twin Shadows

Twin Shadow. You can now maintain two Shadow Doubles at once.

For the Greater Cause. As a reaction when you are being targeted by an attack you may swap places with one of your doubles making the attack target it instead. When you swap places with your double you may choose either one.

Strike from the Shadows. You also gain an additional way to use your Sneak Attack; you don't need advantage on the attack roll to use your Sneak Attack against a creature if both you and a Shadow Double of yours are within 5 feet of it or both of your Shadow Doubles are next to it. All the other rules for Sneak Attack still apply to you.

Level 17: Thief’s Reflexes

You are adept at laying ambushes and quickly escaping danger. You can take two turns during the first round of any combat. You take your first turn at your normal Initiative and your second turn at your Initiative minus 10.
