Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Your Spell book has been converted to a deck of magical cards. you have traded the mundanity of preparing your spells for the thrill of monster duels

Level 3: Spell Deck

You replace your spellbook with a spell deck:

  • When you finish a long rest, instead of preparing spells, you shuffle your spell deck and draw a number of spells equal to your prepared spells.
  • These become your prepared spells for the day.
  • When you gain access to a new spell level, you may add one Conjuration spell of a level you can cast to your deck for free.
  • Add two spells from the Conjuration school to your spell deck

Level 3: Instinctive Tactics

our magic is guided by instinct rather than planning.

  • At the start of each of your turns in combat, you may roll a d6:
    • 5–6: Draw one additional spell from your deck (if available). It is prepared until the end of combat.
  • You must always prepare spells randomly from your deck—you cannot choose specific spells unless a feature allows it.
  • You may use Arcane recovery to discard all prepared spells and redraw from your spell deck a new hand equal to your allowed prepared spells

Level 6: Trap Card

You learn to set reactive spells like hidden cards.

  • When you cast a spell with a casting time of 1 bonus action, you may instead hold it as a trap. You can keep this a secret from the table, but you must write down the spell & trigger if your choose to do so.
  • Until the end of comabt, you can cast that spell as a reaction when a triggering condition you define occurs.
  • You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier per long rest.

Level 10: Synergy

You can chain summoning magic at great cost.

  • Once per turn, when you cast a Conjuration spell that summons a creature, you may cast a second such spell of equal or lower level.
  • You gain 1 level of exhaustion after resolving both spells.
  • You cannot use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

Level 14: Discard Pile

  • Once per long rest, when a creature summoned by your spell is reduced to 0 HP or your concentration ends, you may recast that spell without expending a spell slot.
  • The recast:
    • Requires concentration as normal
    • Can only be performed during the same combat it was intially cast
    • Cannot be used to trigger this feature again
