Base Class: Pugilist
Growing up in an environment as harsh as a desert is not easy or safe. Blistering days, freezing nights, violent weather conditions, not to mentions the array of creatures you can come across. It takes a strong individual to thrive in these conditions, and even stronger to choose to fight in them. Desert dragons are individuals who learn to harness their environment through themselves, channeling the desert they call home through themselves to use against their foes. These pugilists emulate the brown dragons of old, combing their actions and tactics with the brutality commonly associated with pugilists.
Level 3: Traits Through Dedication
At 3rd level, you have gained some of the core traits of your “teachers”. You have resistance to fire damage, gain tremorsense out to 15 feet, and your AC increases by 1 so long as you aren’t wearing armor or using a shield.
Power From The Dunes
Your training has shown you how to fight with the power of the desert. At 6th level, each of your unarmed strikes (and only your unarmed strikes) deal 1d6 fire damage on a hit. Also, you gain a burrow speed of 20 feet, but only in sand, and proficiency in Wisdom saving throws.
Personal Oasis
The jewel of the desert is yours to use and share. At 11th level, you can spend 3 Moxie Points as an action to create a 60ft diameter emanation centered on you. Any creature of your choice within the emanation regains hit points equal to 4d6+ twice your CON modifier and removes one level of exhaustion.
Apex Predator
Your extensive training and dedication has culminated in you becoming a force as ferocious as the dragons you emulate. At 17th level, your tremorsense increases to 30ft, your AC bonus increases to 2 and you gain 10ft to all your movement speeds. In addition, you can spend 1 Moxie Point at the start of your turn to have all your unarmed strikes that turn deal an extra 1d6 fire damage. On turns where you use this ability, fire damage you deal ignores resistance and treats immunity as resistance.
Mirage Tactics
The desert has taught you many tricks. Also at 3rd level, you can cast mirror image as an action without spending a spell slot or material components. You can use this feature once per long rest unless you spend 1 Moxie Points to do so again.
