Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Whether the inheritor of a centuries old bloodcurse laid upon your entire family, branded by some evil fey during the celebration of your first birthday, or simply the victim of a particularly wicked artifact or trap, you are cursed beyond anything mortal magic might undo. But unlike so many others, you have learned to embrace your curse, channelling it's power into a sorcery all your own

Level 1: Cursemarked

You bear a powerful curse which cannot be easily dispelled through normal means. Choose a Lustbrand or Curse from the Lustbrand or Miscellaneous Curses sections of this document, or work together with your DM to create a unique curse of your own. This curse cannot be removed by any means short of a wish spell or divine intervention

(Talk with your GM for the curse you want)

Level 1: Hexborn Power

Hexborn Power Beginning at 1st level, you have learned to draw power from the curses that afflict you. You gain 1 sorcery point for each curse you are currently afflicted by.

(Manually apply towards max)

Additionally, your familiarity with curses has granted you a modicum of resistance against their power. You have advantage on saving throws made to resist the effects of hexes and curses

Level 1: Maledict Spellcraft

Starting at 1st level, your cursed magic allows you to wield similar afflictions against others. When your Spellcasting feature lets you learn a sorcerer cantrip or a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose the new spell from the warlock spell list or the sorcerer spell list. You must otherwise obey all the restrictions for selecting the spell, and it becomes a sorcerer spell for you. Upon reaching 5th level, you learn the Bestow Curse spell. It is a sorcerer spell for you, but it does not count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Level 6: Curse Sense

Starting at 6th level, Your attunement to your own curse allows you to easily sense the presence of similar magics. You automatically recognize the presence, but not the nature, of curses on creatures or objects you touch, or afflicting lands you reside in.

By spending at least 10 minutes focused on a curse, you can make an insight check to attempt to learn more about it. The DM sets the DC for this check based on the nature of the curse and the information you are attempting to learn, On a success, you learn one of the following pieces of information.

• The curse's effect.
• The curse's cause, or the general direction to it's source or caster.
• Insight into a special requirement needed to end the curse, such as restoring a sacred object to it's home, or fulfilling an ancient vow.

You must remain in direct physical contact with the cursed object, lands, or creature while using this feature. Once you have learned a piece of information in this way, you must wait 7 days before you may attempt to do so again.

Level 14: Consume Curse

By 14th level, you have learned to fully harness the magic contained within a curse, consuming it to fuel your own spells. As an action on your turn, you may touch a cursed creature or object within 5 ft, removing a single curse from the target, as per the Remove Curse spell. When you do so, you may immediately use your reaction to cast any spell you know of a level equal to or lower than that of the curse.

If the curse does not have a specified level, consult your DM, or treat it as a 3rd level curse.

You may use this ability a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus, after which you must complete a long or short rest before you may do so again.

Level 18: Maledict Mastery

Upon reaching 18th level, you have learned to truly master your curses, weaving them weave directly into the spells you cast. When a creature critically fails its saving throw against one of your spells, you may use your reaction to choose one curse you are currently subject to, and that is of a level you can cast.

The target must succeed on a wisdom saving throw or gain the chosen curse. Curses gained in this way last until removed by way of a Remove curse spell or similar magic, or until you choose to end the curse as a free action.
