Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Harness the fury of the storm, and unleash it's world-shaking thunder through your rage.

Harnessing the power of ancient beings or the primal power of the land, barbarians who follow the Path of the Stormheart deeply respect nature , understanding that it brings both wonder and ruin.

Channelling primal power through ritual, tattoo, or some form of cosmic alignment, barbarians who follow this path develop the ability to conjure raging winds and unleash deafening blasts of thunderous energy with their strikes, conjure shields of tempestuous winds, and rush with the speed and power of the storm.

Level 3: Stormwall

Your rage taps into the fury of nature, and allows you to wreathe your body in a tempestuous barrier of thunderous energy.

  • When you activate your Rage, you gain a number of Temporary Hit Points equal to your Barbarian level.
  • While you have Temporary Hit Points, when a creature makes an attack against you it must succeed on a Constitution Saving Throw or be struck with a blast of thunderous energy, taking 2d8 Thunder damage and knocked backwards 10 feet in a horizontal direction of your choice.

The DC for this feature is equal to 8 + your Constitution Modifier + your Proficiency Bonus.

In addition, you can use a Bonus Action to activate this feature while raging. You can do so in this way a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus. You regain all uses of this feature on a Long Rest.

The damage for this feature increases to 4d8 damage at level 10 and then to 6d8 at level 14.

Level 3: Thunderous Roar

The mighty roar of thunder echoes through your body, allowing you to roar with the immense power of nature.

As a bonus action, you can roar, forcing creatures within a 10 foot radius of yourself to succeed on a Constitution Saving Throw or take 3d6 thunder damage. This roar activates effects of any other roars your species is capable of, such as a Leonin's Daunting Roar or a Kobold's Draconic Cry.

The DC of this feature is equal to 8 plus your Strength Modifier and Proficiency Bonus. You can use this effect once, and you regain your use of it at a Short Rest.

Level 6: Storm Strike

Through your devotion and rigorous training, you have learnt to harness the mighty speed and explosive power of the storm through your movement and how to unleash it in a single, devastating strike.

  • While you have Temporary Hit Points, your movement speed increases by 15 feet.
  • In addition, when you make a successful attack against a creature while you have Temporary Hit Points, you can choose to remove your Temporary Hit Points to unleash your tempestuous energy in a single explosive strike. When you do so, you deal 4d8 Thunder damage to the target creature and all other creatures within a 15foot cube in front of you, knocking them 20 feet backwards.

The damage for this feature increases to 6d8 damage at level 10, and to 10d8 at level 14.

Level 10: Stormborne

The power of the storm and the winds now courses through your body, affecting you at all times, and the power of lightning now infuses your tempestuous shields.

  • You gain resistance to Lightning and Thunder damage, and your Stormwall charges now replenish on a Short Rest or a Long Rest.
  • In addition, while you have Temporary Hit Points, you do not provoke opportunity attacks, and you are ethereal, allowing you to move through spaces that other creatures occupy. When you do so, they take lightning damage equal to your Barbarian level. Each creature can take this damage only once per turn. If you end your turn in the same space as another creature, you take 5d6 force damage and are ejected to the closest available space.

Level 14: Earthshaker

Your mastery over the wrath of nature has reached its full potential. Now, the earth moves under your feet and breaks under the force of your wrath.

  • Your Thunderous Roar bonus action now affects a 20ft radius around you, and now deals 9d6 bludgeoning damage, as your roar is loud enough to break and shatter the earth beneath your feet. Any creatures who fail the saving throw of the roar have the Prone condition.
  • In addition, when you remove your Temporary Hit Points to activate your Storm Strike,  It now deals 10d8 damage to the creatures affected, represented by a mixture of thunderous energy and sharp, broken stones flung upwards from the shattered earth.
